Hopkins is already going on about his age and he hasnt lost yet, trust me that will be the first ting he says when Kellerman lets him at the mic. This gets Joe the lightheavyweight title, a name and a big pay check, not the universal respect he deserves. Give it 5 years, the he'll be truly appreciated.
There's plenty of other threads if you don't like this one. You can even start one yourself if you would like.
:huh So when PBF fights ODH at 154 he's not p4p #1 anymore?? Or Pac if he steps up a weight, he's no longer p4p top 10 anymore??
atsch Give me a ****in break. He said before the Taylor fight (the first one...only staying at MW for one more because he felt he won...) that it would be his last fight at 160 because he no longer could make it comfortably...and that he felt his body would be more suited at 175. I mean, do you even do research on this stuff, or do you just make it up as you go along??? :verysad
But it's the Calzaghe supporters that shoot themselves in the foot... You can't call Trinidad "blown up" at 160 when he was a champion, a favorite in the fight, and in his prime, because Hopkins is 15 lbs. overweight, a champion, and well past his prime. Plus, if Hopkins beat blown-up fighters, Hopkins is overrated. If Hopkins is overrated, then this win wouldn't mean much... If I were a big Calzaghe fan, I'd start admitting that BHop has the superior resume and that the Trinidad win was a great one...If the fans do that, this win would mean more (if JC did win), GET IT?
its the equivalent of Ricky Hatton knocking Manny Pac out with a body shot... Yeah we would all get over excitied before hand, some might call it fight of the year, but in reality it is a mismatch.
Trinidad couldn't make 147 anymore, so he moved up...Nobody seems to care...so I'm with you there...:hat

So being the only man to shut out and stop Glen Johnson isnt great? Jumping two classes at 42 years old, not taking a tune up at a weight you hadnt fought at for almost 2 decades (for only one fight at that), taking on the generally regarded MAN at LHW and thoroughly outclassing him and arguably shutting him out isnt great? GET THE **** OUTTA HERE WITH THAT BULL****!!!! :hi:
Yourself, Rumsfield + Dorfmeister are making no issue of Hopkin's age and are praising his resume, so you 3 deserve the most respect. A lot of the Hopkin's fans on here, who are maybe not as knowledgeable as you 3 will bring his age in if he loses.
Imo joe has fought more people who caused him a threat than b-hop has, not necessarily atgs etc but decent smw's who could bang and box, not that it makes any diff.
