There was rational behind that as opposed to senseless, childish abuse.

Nah I think it's good to recieve constructive criticism. Mine being that this thread is unoriginal pap.

    Thanks. :good

But ya see, I do see some...but its more in retaliation of a comment made by a Calzaghe fan. Like many are talking about it in ways I see coronacards doing so...by saying that if people think he is old and past it...then the win wont mean **** for Calzaghe. But this is more sarcasm, as he is right...all of these posters that are picking Joe, saying that Bernard is past it and old and overrated, I mean, if they feel that way, doesnt that detract from the win that they feel is "destined"? I mean, if he is old...and overrated...and blah blah blah.

I get where you coming from, but trust me when I say its the minority not the majority. These kind of things creep up right before every one of his fights...like I said, I remember people saying he was old and past it BEFORE TRINIDAD!!!!! (and every subsequent fight after that)...but its never (the majority again) his fans that are saying this, because trust me, as arguably his biggest fan on this site, if you were to ask us WHY we are fans of Bernard, his age and longevity would be mentioned EVERY TIME! I dont think a true fan can use something as such a positive and then spin it as a negative when it suits them. If they do, they should find someone else to cheer for.

So wrong...I dont even know where to begin.

You are being caught up in this wave of people saying that Hopkins only fought people smaller than him, when that is SOOOOO far from the truth.

Johnson, Jackson, Vanderpool, Echols x2 (one of the fiercest punchers of our era at his prime), Joppy, Eastman, Jones, Taylor x2, Tarver, etc. All fighters who were natural MWs or higher. Plus they were all very good to very great fighters. Plus factor in that he was an underdog vs Tito, Winky, Tarver and Jones..and that totally blows that thought out the water.

I agree....we all have to pick...either Hopkins is old, past his prime, out of his weight class, and has a blown up resume against WWs, therefore worth nothing on JC's resume

    or

he is a legend, with a great resume, a little past his peak, at a pretty prime weight, and worth a ton to Calzaghe's resume if JC beats him.

    PEOPLE MUST CHOOSE

If what you said was true, then that is ironic. B-Hop's best opponents were not as good at 160. Fact.

Hopkins is nowhere near his prime. Definite fact.

Are you white? I don't know. Given your statement you seemed to imply you were not.....and if it was a joke then you and I both know it's not funny when you have to explain.:hi:

I'm not really bothered how much credit Calzaghe gets for beating Hopkins, I've learned to live with the fact people will ALWAYS discredit him one way or another

It will sure be fun seeing what the Hopkins apologists have to say though :yep
