**** **** **** ****. Toquinho could have won that fight, he just made a terrible mental mistake by inviting Nate into his guard. Having Nate in his guard is fine, but for ****s sake don't let him just jump on you with a punch.

I really hope he wasn't greast as Toquinho was saying, just for the sake of the sport.

Respect to Nate, he did what he had to do, but it is so insane how cautious Toquinho's opponents are of any sort of clinch because he is such a threat on the ground.

Man Rousimar was giving him fits on the ground, why did he stop fighting?! He can only blame himself really. Given the lack of opponents for Marquardt I'd like to see a rematch.

I would take Palhares in the rematch, he was ****ed. Why would he stop and point to the leg if the guy was not greased? It makes no sense.

Because he was wrong? They checked him coming into the ring and after the fight, so unless this is some huge conspiracy with the athletic commission where the UFC puts its entire rep on the line for a ultimate fight night then there was no grease.

I'd be fine with a rematch because I don't know who else Marquardt will fight and I really wanted to see a good fight from these guys tonight.

I don't think he stopped fighting, I think he was trying to get Nate into his guard, he did pretty much the same thing in the Henderson fight.

The difference is the Henderson fight he made sure to block, and ended up with control of Hendo's arm for a bit; in this fight he just didn't block the punch.

Edit: Maybe I was wrong, he seems to not be looking when the punch was thrown. I do think he wanted to have Nate in his guard, but for ****s sake, protect yourself at all times.

He was looking at Herb complaining about what he thought was a greasy leg.

He definitely wasn't looking at Marquart when he raised his hand and looked up. It was more a wtf hand movement rather than a wave in.

He isn't known to be a guy who is loose with his grip, or half assed leg locks.. This is Palhares.. Very odd ending.. Something funky is going on.. He certainly wasn't defending himself at that point, more like a wtf moment, and then he just got beat down for looking around for the ref and not defending himself.

    Protect yourself at all times!

He did seem to have the leg tight but then it just slipped out so early in the fight when I doubt they were sweating that much.

Palhares said Nate was greased but Nate immediately let Herb Dean check his legs for grease. Herb would have said something if he then saw them greased.
