Lol. Watch how people will label Rigo from being one of the best to being overrated if Donaire pulls up the win on this one.. Anyway i dont see aything special about Rigo and certainly he is not a beast. I Expect this fight to go 12 due to Rigos style.

Yeah they do it because their jealous of the success of Filipinos and will do anything to discredit their wins. Filipinos produce the best boxers in the world, Donaire is P4P #1 and Pacquiao is P4P Top 5. Rigondeaux is a Top 10 P4P Fighter so Donaire is fighting the very best.

¿ Phillipinos produce the best fighters in the world ? , lol , keep dreaming , your nation started boxing in the 70's and have NEVER won an olympic medal of any color let alone gold . ! You believed the Pacquiao hype and now you're on Donaire's hype ! , lmao , you remind me of Gamboa Express ( and myself ) before the Solis / Vitaly fight . ! Keep'em coming ! . :good . Peace .

Crazy indeed. But if you trust Compubox then you have an issue.

8-4 is the closest I could see that fight being, plus the KD. Donaire didn't look good through most of the fight, but those punch stats are a) incorrect (by my viewing) and b) don't mean **** since this isn't the amateurs.

The whole "OH LOOK AT COMPUBOX" and "OH LOOK AT HIS FACIAL DAMAGE" reminds me a wholllllllllllllllllle lot of people reaching after Pacquiao vs. Marquez III.

    Hahaha, you don't know ****.

Nobody is jealous of Filipinos. They just don't like them for the same reason that some people don't like German fight fans or British fight fans. Because people like you on sites like this give them a horrible name and impression.

As for your "rankings" you threw out there...

    P4P

    Donaire = top 5

Pacquiao = certainly not among the top 6

Rigondeaux = not in the top 30

This is the the most stupid post I've read in a long time.

This one I'm not going to let pass.

We may have had less success in the ams as you did but at least try to set your facts straight.

Philippine has had 5 medals in olympic boxing and 2 were silver. One was a disputed points loss in the finals of the 1964 Tokyo olympics.

Philippines also had a boxing world champion a decade before Cuba even did in Pancho Villa. When did Bonbon won his? 1935.

If you wanna troll or belittle another country, try to at least be smart about it. lol, peace :good

why are people so obsessed with ****ing medals from dog shows, i mean olympics? I am pretty sure, ****** bieber has more awards than john coltrane. Look at zou shiming, who is the most accomplished amateur right now. He sucks. He just exploits amateur boxing system. He punches like a brawling hysterical *****, his slick defence(turning his back or falling on the floor in dangerous situations) is so slick. And the best thing he have(footwork), he uses just for running away...

very good analysis and post, but you forgot few things:
1.rigo drops his right hand, when he throws his bodypunches
    2. rigo is one handed
    3. its better to have average defence with good chin, than good defence with bad chin. Cause in pro boxing you gonna be hurt at least one time in the fight, and we know, that to touch rigo aint impossible.

the **** man. do you know how to use the keyboard? I am Pinoy, and i think MILPITAS is a troll, and NOT A PINOY. Professionally we are competitve in boxing. in the amateurs we should have won some gold but we got cheated (Onyok velasco). I hope Rigo gets sparked out so that the cuban boxing myth gets thrown out of the ****en window. Numbnuts

We won silver in olympic boxing btw. **** you.

Well I made a promise to myself that I will not gloat but gladly break bread with nonito fans
The younglings they are unaware what they do. Forgive them lord.
Beware do not let rigondeaux trick you. You may think rigondaeux has weak chin
No experience this and that just keep thinking that and even more . come fight night. Each and every one of your arguments favouring donaire will gradually and i mean gradually breakdown coming to the realisation in front of you a man with talent that is stratospheric .he will break donaire down like a Jackal and mongose near a poisonous snake . then take him out. There will be a deafing silence. Don't see rigo celebrating overly he knew what he would do . hes not looking for fans bit connioseurs of the science of pugilism

It's Filipino's but Phillipinos, Filipino's have won many Olympic medals in lots of sports not only in boxing. Pancho Villa (Francisco Guilledo) was one of first all time great boxers ever and he came from the Philippines back in the early 1900s. Pacquiao was P4P near the top before the Marquez lost and in a fight that was fight of the year and him losing after he was winning makes him a nobody after all he did and the all the fighters he beat? Donaire was voted 2012 Fighter of the Year not only by me but the majority of the fans and boxing experts, so don't think for one second he doesn't deserved to be mentioned at the #1 spot.

3 round fights against guys looking to score instead of doing damage. Doesn't prepare you for what Donaire brings to the table.

Good breakdown, once again. Was wondering if Rigo would be able to do enough work with the right hand to create openings for the left; he did and that, along with some superb feints, movement and of course his elusiveness allowed to win the fight.
