Here's what I'm thinking, if everything goes according to plan. If Paul Williams and Kermit Cintron meet in February, the winner should fight the winner of cotto/mosley in maybe June. Finally the winner of that fight should fight the winner of mayweather/hatton (mayweather) in September or October. What do you guys think?

I like it, expect if Hatton were to beat Mayweather, he would probably not stay at 147 and fight the other top guys. I see him either facing De La Hoya for a final fight at 147 or moving back down to 140. If Mayweather beats Hatton (the likely scenario), this seems like a perfect idea.

I would expect simply the winner of Mayweather vs. Hatton to fight the winner of Mosley vs. Cotto, then maybe Williams/Cintron next.

I like that scenario better than the first one for the simple reason that margarito can be added to the equation. the mayweather/hatton winner faces the cotto/mosley winner in June 08 the winner of cintron/williams faces margarito in July 08. the winners face off in december 08 in a super unification fight for the ages.

im just saying since mayweather is the guy that everyone wants, let the other champions prove who should fight him. as for margo, i think he lost his chance (at the moment) for a shot against one of the titlists. Maybe mayweather would fight him waiting for the winner of the other fights?! just a thought

Even if the first scenario were to play out, it probably wouldn't make this any less perfect. Were Ricky to knock Floyd off his perch and then return to the comforts of 140, that just makes it easier. Both guys would be out of the equation, and the winner of a hypothetical Cotto-Mosley vs. Williams-Cintron quartile would be the clear #1.

The big fights are just around the corner for the welterweights. It's no wonder this is boxing's premier division, the talent level is dowright ridiculous.
