This cat in the main event only made his pro debut this year and yet has already picked up a stoppage victory over Dmitry Sukhotsky! In his 6th pro bout! What-what-what!!!
In progress: Alexander Ivanov vs. Kobiljon Bobojonov, 8 rounds @ welterweight Final round. Been a very cautious and tactical chess match throughout. Primarily they're just posing and looking to place their own jab or parry each other's.
Round 1 Khakberdiev is the aggressor, pushing Sebyala back across the ring with high jab skimming the shoulder blade and left hooks on the cheek, partially blocked. Sebyala doing a decent job defensively, with lots of dipping and bobbing in place, leaning to one side, and maneuvering his long folded-up arms into position to block. Khakberdiev doing most of the actual punching. 10-9 Khakberdiev
Round 2 Khakberdiev is focusing his attack on the basement now, throwing alternating uppercuts to Sebyala's body with either hand. Sebyala poking with a light jab while backing up, leaning his long tall body over to either side to dodge the occasional lead hooking combos thrown up top by Khakberdiev on the way in. 10-9 Khakberdiev 20-18 Khakberdiev
I'm quite confused, was Ulugbek still part of the main event? YouTube stream is 3 hours long but I can't find his fight.
Round 3 Khakberdiev is jabbing the body and just taking his time, scoring points on a willing target. Sebyala is content to just absorb body shots, with the edge taken off by his backward and spiraling movement, limiting Khakberdiev's output with head punches to almost nil. The Ugandan has sparring partner mentality here. 10-9 Khakberdiev 30-27 Khakberdiev
Oh ****, I thought I was viewing this live this whole time. Just now saw the slider bar on the bottom of the video to move to a different time.
Also the fight I was watching wasn't even Ulugbek at all. It was some other Russian vs. some other Ugandan. (not, however, the co-feature, Aziev vs. Vegas, because I know what Joey Vegas looks like and that isn't him. This opponent was tall and lanky, just like Sebyala...) I'm so confused.
That's what confused me even more - you saying there was quite a gap lol. I had to check we were both watching the same video
