I was under the impression Umar would be social media savvy enough to due a bit of due diligence on things like that. Amazed it's taken this long for people to dig up his tweets really.

I feel like some people have a bit of an issue with him because he could be perceived as a bit ****y so it was inevitable someone would go looking for something to take him down a peg.

The biggest mistakes provide the greatest lessons.

How he handles the situation will determine what type of person he actually is and if he makes amends and apologizes in the appropriate fashion there is no reason why he cannot find an alternative route back.

Staying quiet, hiding behind Kugan's statement is not the way forward though.

I don't know if there's a way back for him really, especially in Liverpool. I think IFL will cut their losses. There will be pressure for them to do that now, especially given how closely IFL are associated with Matchroom.

Umar should not be concerned about IFL at this point in time and should just resign to preempt Kugan sacking him.

He then needs to be proactive and go on the offensive and apologize in the correct manner, not with some bull**** statement but in person.

IFL is not the only shop in town.

I'm sure if Kugan does decide to get rid then he will give him the opportunity to step down first.

I think it's sad that his actions as a teenager should define him years later but he does need to show people that he's sorry and changed his views (if he has), that said I think the downside in keeping him on is MUCH bigger than any upside. That decision will no doubt be made indirectly by the companies that back IFL , whether sponsorship, access etc.

The cynic in me says the Umar IFL Umar apology video could do some serious views though.

Umar should go rogue and refuse to apologize. Team up with Tyan Booth and make the most offensive boxing podcast / show on the web. People are sick of PC sackings anyway

    I 100 % agree.

He has to show by his actions not by his words that his previous statements do not represent the person he is today.

It needs to be genuine and over a sustained period of time otherwise, people's opinions of him will not change.

Umar has already dug his own grave, going down that route would be the final nail in the coffin.

He absolutely can IMO. Explain his age, say he's since educated himself on the matter and that he's remorseful for the comments, then make a small donation to a local charity. That will settle the vast majority I would think

What's gonna happen, Anthony Fowler's gonna arrive at his door and Cobra him? This is not boxing, you can't just attack people you don't like.

Im not sure Kugan has a HR department and is more of a one man band. Would take days to access all of this for new recruits.

If I was Umar, do a video making a genuine apology, and pledge one months salary to a Liverpool based charity. Think it would be hard not to give him a second chance given his age at the time.
