Round 1 Ngumbu is trading jabs at range, with his arm reeling in a bit haphazardly and held on a horizontal or vertical turn, at right angles, with his movements following his lead arm in jerky patterns. Long swatting left hook leads by Ngumbu. Salamov is picking his spots, taking wide steps around Ngumbu and jabbing his glove from the air, then circling more quickly and planting a 1-2 on the face or crop-dusting with a light double or triple-jab, doing a slick pull-back when Ngumbu fires a series of looping shots at him in ambush. 10-9 Salamov
A dominant performance tonight would put Salamov ahead of Mekhontsev, Lepikhin, Barrera, Skoglund on a LHW prospect list.
Single vehicle, actually. The girl that was driving was drunker than I realized. :-( It was us versus a giant rotary (the one by Forest Hills, in the direction of Franklin Park or Dorchester), slamming into the curb at 50mph straight-on.
Round 2 Ngumbu is coming forward putting goalposts up and collecting jabs from Salamov. Body shots by Salamov, taking advantage of Ngumbu's awkwardly high arm position and slow reaction. Ngumbu is shooting his left glove from below his chin to overhead, covering a swath from his chest to his temple with a pong-paddle defense. Wide swipes at the midsection by Ngumbu, looping punches with both hands but unable to reach as Salamov twists his body away, taking quick steps and standing up tall. 10-9 Salamov 20-18 Salamov
Sorry to hear about the accident, but I'm happy you're seemingly feeling better. I was in a car accident a few years ago with someone else driving and rear ended a Mexican guy and was in the passenger seat, the airbag didn't deploy, but thankfully I had my seatbelt on, all I got was a slight case of whiplash.
Round 3 Ngumbu is throwing ineffective looping combos at the body, chasing after Salamov. Downward left jabs by Salamov while rooted on the outside and sticking & moving. Ngumbu holds up his left arm perpendicularly and then in a train-whistle fashion, sweeping it from side to side to increase his statistical chances of not getting jabbed in the face while taking kamikaze dives inside. Push-down, Salamov on the canvas, ruled a slip/push. 10-9 Salamov 30-27 Salamov
Round 4 Ngumbu is whipping giant hooks across the ring at Salamov, falling in with them. Lots of rough infighting, both jockeying for position to be on top and drill each other in the back of the head with rabbit punches. Ref trying his best to keep a handle on it. Nonstop clinching as Ngumbu comes lunging in with big telegraphed left hooks, intercepted as Salamov greets him with a 1-2. Occasionally, breaking this pattern, Salamov will throw his 1-2 moving backwards instead, using his arms once they've fully extended to slap down at Ngumbu's. 10-9 Salamov 40-36 Salamov
Ahhh.....Could have been much worse then. Vehicle totaled i presume? Lot's of far worse accidents at some of these rotary's, the one in dot/southie is the worst.
