I did, 115-112. But honestly, given how his stamina dropped in the last half of the fight, I can certainly understand scoring the fight to Hrgovic. Not by as wide a margin as one of those cards, but I'm alright with the decision. Disappointed, sure, but it wasn't a straight robbery at least.
I had Hrgovic by a point but man, he's been quite overrated. Mediocres like Parker or Ruiz could cause him serious problems It's unfortunate Hunter didn't believe in himself, because he had a real shot at beating Hrgovic
115-112 was ridiculous, especially when Hrgovic was knocked down. That means every single round down the stretch went to him.
This may be my naivete talking - I haven't followed boxing as long as most of you guys prolly have - but I think if Zhang had a better gas tank he'd have been able to finish Hrgovic. There were a few times I was screaming at my TV when he'd throw a good few punches that clearly rocked Hrgovic but just fail to follow up on them. I kinda hope they'll rematch, but I doubt it. I've been saying since this fight was scheduled that it's prolly Zhang's last chance to get a shot at a title, but honestly after tonight I wouldn't be surprised if he somehow ended up with another shot. I think the way he performed tonight raised a lot of people's opinions on him. Time's ticking fast though.
No but he definitely had a strong argument for winning, i think the 5th round was probably the most debatable round of the fight. Hrgovic won 2:30 of 5th round then in the last 15 seconds or so, Zhang hurt Hrgovic right at the end of the round. Now i didn't think Zhang's little flurry at the end of the round was quite enough and i scored it for Hrgovic, but i could see how someone could of scored it for Zhang. For me Zhang had the best moments of the fight, but overall lost the fight because he got outworked kind of like Bradley vs Provodnikov. I had Zhang winning but it was tight and had no issue with the outcome. The real takeaways were that Hrgovich might top out as a top 10 HW and also that Zhang would make for another interesting fight if matched well. I think Zhang vs Whyte would be a fun fight actually.
