An unbeaten HW contender super 12 tournament. Wow....that would be a classic. 2 straight years, with a fight every two months. Separate the wouldbees from the willbees. Here's my list. Fury 15-0 soon to be 16-0 Pulev Soon to be 14-0 Boystov 28-0 Perez 16-0 soon to be 17-0 Helenius 16-0 Ustinov 24-0 Wach 25-0 Manny Charr 18-0 soon to be 19-0 Seth Mitchell 22-0 Wilder 18-0 David Rodriquez 35-0 soon to be 36-0 Andy Ridenko 20-0 Alternates David Price Amir Monsour Ed Gerber Andre Warzyk Luis Ortiz Glazkov\ Pianeta / FIXED Alternates replace fighters likely to pull out from either being complete pussies, injured, or because their mgmt wants to save their 0's for bigger paydays when they are fed to a K brother. Examples of pull outs are Fury, Helenius, and Boystov. Fury because his mgmt knows he'll lose to at least 3 of those guys, so it's not worth the risk esp since he already commands 6 figures fighting cans. Helenius could probably win this tournament, but he's got titles to contend for sooner than 3 years, perhaps a meeting with Vitali next summer after Vitali disassembles Stiverne. Boystov just don't seem to want to fight anybody worth their salt. So getting involved in a such a risky endeavor would rerail his inflated career. Wach and Mitchell also would likely decline because there's more $$$ for them fighting the hasbeens and cans which will somehow earn them a shot. I did not include Potvetkin because he holds that fake title, and would be stripped if he couldn't defend it during the tournament. But of course an invitation should be extended to him as well, since he is the ruler of those unbeatens having won the most significant belt of the list. All fights should be 6 rounds in the first round, 8 in the second, and 10 in the 3rd and 12 in the finale. 4 fights on each card, and PPV sales straight through the roof.
it would be great..... more likely to happen is a "four man semi final and final tournament" happening at some point. maybe to find a challenger for the klits. the super middle tourney was a one off! getting 6 promoters to agree any kind of terms was a magic trick that will probably never be repeated. especially not in the heavy weight division which potentially has the big payday fights against the klits like you say. too much risk not enough reward!
It's a pipedream, guys like Wilder would never participate in this since they know they'd got exposed and lose their big payday. Helenius or Pulev would win this if it happened though, I think.
Would be awesome. Povetkin should be there too, because he's the heavyweight champion of nothing (just a contender really).
Winners bracket 20K first round 50K 2nd round 100K 3rd round 250K finals Losers bracket 15K 30K 50K 100K 500K to the winner, and a guaranteed title shot.:good Showtime, HBO could even make the semis and the finals PPV, and the FINAL could be a title eliminator. I can't understand why these henpecked HW's don't beg for something like this. I mean, the one's afraid of being exposed or missing potential paydays like Helenius, Potvetkin, Fury, etc, could opt out, there are plenty of alternates who would be more than grateful for a shot at winning more than 1 million bucks over 2 years.:hey
