the other one not mentioned is King Carlos/Valdez #2. a 37 year old guy in his last fight is beat to the punch in a trade of right hands. By a hitter. Cannot get hit harder than beat to the punch and it's harder to recover than at the end of a shot. He gets up with legs underneath him at the count of 2 or less and carries on as if it was a landed jab and nothing more. I cannot imagine what Rodrigo Valdez was thinking to himself after that magic moment and standing in a nuetral corner and then within 3 seconds the stark realization of how ineffective that shot actually was on the guy. Man, talk about recouperative powers. Monzon at that age even, dealt in nanoseconds. ten second counts are actually an unfair advantage in a boxing match with Carlos Monzon. There almost needed to be a sliding scale and call it the Monzon Rule.
I think so, I remember the first time i stumbled across it didn't really know who either fighter was but I thought Moore had been killed with that first right KD, the way he hit the deck was insane.
How could a dude with a hearns avatar not mention the leonard fights, the kinchen fight or even the roldan fight? Does vargas against tito count?
Marquez not only recovering from that vicious left hook from Katsidis, but finishing that round strong as well.
True, it was amazing how Tommy survived the 12th round against Leonard in the rematch! So much heart. People don't mention how he looked completely gone against both Hagler and Barkley and managed to rise to his feet before the count both times. Of course, against Kinchen he was practically gone in the 4th round. Finally, many haven't seen Hearns' fight with Freddie Delgado, which was a brutal war that Tommy came through to win, having been down again.
Raul Rojas flooring Yoshiaki Numata for a 9 count with a horrific body shot in the 4th, for the WBC super FW title back in 1970. Then in the 5th Rojas moved into to finish him and had Numata out on his feet. Then without warning Numata exploded an uppercut right on Rojas's chin knocking him out before he hit the floor. Amazing recovery and comeback from Numata.
I don't think he was hurt : he got hit and fell on his butt for a flash KD, as always. His recovery against Pacquiao in the first fight was more amazing, but even then he didn't looked as rocked as other examples in this thread.
