Lets ignore the hype machine and draw up a realistic p4p top ten: 1. Tyson Fury 2. Guillermo Rigondeaux 3. James DeGale 4. Roman Gonzales 5. Sergey Kovalev 6. Andre Ward 7. Kell Brook 8. Canelo Alvarez 9. Terence Crawford 10. Gennady Golovkin
Good list but I think it's so long since Rigo and Ward have been in with live bodies they need to be removed for inactivity. I suggest replacing them with the Quigg v Frampton winner and either Jamie McDonnell, Billy Joe Saunders, Lee Selby or Terry Flanagan
At this point I think people need to consider abandoning the Rigodeaux hypetrain, I knew he was going to school Donaire, and that's because Donaire isn't the best boxer in the world, he struggled with Mathebula and looked bad against Vazquez beforehand, and has since gone life and death with Vic and Ceasr ****ing Juarez. And looked bad against Vetyeka before getting KTFO by Walters.
I see where you're coming from with removing Ward due to inactivity but a win over Barerra would put him right back up there. For me Rigos inactivity against top fighters is truly no fault of his own. AN he has that signature win against a bonafide p4per at the time Donaire. Just realized I messed up and forgot Pacquiao and Bradley atsch Have to squeeze Crawdaddy and GGG out for these two, so heres my revised list: 1. Tyson Fury 2. Guillermo Rigondeaux 3. James DeGale 4. Roman Gonzales 5. Sergey Kovalev 6. Andre Ward 7. Kell Brook 8. Manny Pacquiao 9. Timothy Bradley 10. Canelo Alvarez
Hype? Hype is someone who is placed high up on p4p lists having beaten nobodies, Donaire was universally considered p4p#3 when Rigondeaux beat him, a special win. Rigo ruined him.
Tyson Fury is probably my favorite boxer, but I don't think we can justify putting him as the #1 P4P. While I do believe Wlad was once #1 P4P, his performance against Jennings showed that he had declined considerably before he faced Fury.
True. How come the 'has only ever beaten one guy' train never stretches to Rigondeaux. Donaire hadn't looked great since blasting out undersized Montiel. And Navarez and Nishioka looked like they didn't even try and win. But his ranking is only based on that one win, and has had shaky performances against Cordoba, Marroquin and Amagasa. Getting dropped by an unrated guy like Amagasa twice is like Munroe dropping GGG twice, Mohammadi dropping Kovalev, Berto dropping Mayweather, Funetes dropping Gonzalez, Smith dropping Ward, Algieri dropping Pacquiao etc, those guys wouldn't get the free pass Rigo has for that happening for sure.
:deal We'd never hear the ****ing of it. Rigo fought like a scared ***** against a guy that got KO1 by Jason Canoy who got beaten down by Hinata Maruta in his first fight. Rigo had one great performance and has fought nothing bums since. F*** him. He should be off everyone's list.:deal
Ggg Spence Kovalev Canelo and ward, assuming ward fights exactly like he did against smith when fighting barrera. That was a whole new and way better ward, he actually showed true talent and skills instead of flat out mauling his undersized opponents, Ward is a natural lhw, that's a fact and he should be a much better fighter at lhw
1.Gonzalez 2.Ward 3.Kovalev 4.Fury 5.Rigo 6.Crawford 7.GGG 8.Pac 9.Canelo 10.Bradley Best list by far
