Does he train any other fighter than PBF?? I don't recall having ever seen him with any other fighter. PBF experts or anyone know??
Damn, thanks Chicago. I'd never noticed him with anyone else, so I imagined he exclusively trained PBF.
NO ****?? Thanks Danny. I will have to check that out. Thanks guys as I had been thinking about this for some reason all day at work and could not think of seeing him one time elsewhere.:good good lookin out as well Chicago. BTW, I lived in Chicago for a year a little ways back, is that where you're from?
It should also be noted that he dumped Racman after that fight because he stated the Racman was a lazy fighter with lazy training habits, and that he should have been able to beat Ruiz.
Man dude, I'm from West Virginia and returned back here after my stay. That is one HELLA HUMONGOUS City. I did have some good times up there other than the EXTREME cold I don't think most folks can truly appreciate until they've actually felt -40 degrees with a 40 mile an hour wind blowing. I was there in '95-'96 staying at the Great Lakes Navy joint just north of Chicago. I would really like to go back for a visit though.
So the traffic hasn't gotten any better then? When I was there I forget which highway exactly, but it was the expressway that goes overhead straight thru the city, had hella traffic problems because every day people were jamming up the highway to see a D. Rodman billboard that changed hair color every day.
I never once attemted to drive in downtown. I never been anywhere where as soon a green light changes at least 10 cars lay on their horns. My trips to town always consisted of an Amtrak ride to the main train station then either cab or subway to where I wanted to go. One of the best days of my life remains that in one day me and 4 of my dudes caught the early noon Cubs game, then hopped the sub to the south side and watched the Sox play evening with both games in one day. Unfortunately both teams lost! Sox stadium was modern marvel with the lights and ****, but Wrigley was just awesome. ****in Bagwell smashed like four homers against the Cubs that day, but the fans always threw the ball back (pretty cool and some really fat drunk chick fell down the stairs and had to have medical help out: too funny if you seen it). Also that was the first time I'd experienced seeing a full fledged band set up on the sidewalk outside the game and that **** was top shelf for sure.
He used to help out in the day to day training of Layla Ali, he always helps out in training most fighters in and around Top Rank in las vegas, he used to train an awful lot of young fighters out of the old Las Vegas Golden Gloves gym on Gragson street North LV.. He trained a heavyweight with Lloyd Honeyghan called Steve Jay. Steve was born in Britain but lived a while in Illinois with Nate Jones the Don King heavyweight.. They became friends in the Olympic Village in Atlanta Ga.. 96.. Steve eventually signed pro with Frank Maloney.. He got a very good signing bonus and boxed a very decent heavy in the UK called Harrold Senior and got a draw then ran off with the signing bonus and never boxed again and to my knowledge Frank never saw him to this day..
He also trained a guy i think whose name was Carl Jones. It was definately Jones but i don't realy remember if it was Carl Jones. The fight i saw him in was in 1996
