The dude is almost a perfect fighter. He has a good defense, great counter-punching, great accuracy, the best jab at 147, can fight on the inside and outside, is arguably the hardest puncher at 147, and he is the most athletic. I see him and Crawford getting into a firefight and Ennis catching Crawford and stopping him the late rounds. I see Spence and Ennis having a war but Ennis being able to fight in the pocket just as good and Spence, plus being bigger, faster, and more athletic, will win him a decision. Thoguhts?
It’s always easy to predict this before fighters start fighting other top 5-7 fighters within a division. Remember Errol Spence dominated Chris Algieri, Leonard Bundu and Lamont Peterson like no other fighter before him. Boots definitely looks like the goods but let’s not rush to crown these guys..
I don't think Spence or Craford would've done that to Clayton. Clayton is on the level of all the guys you listed above and prior to the Porter fight, he would've been the best fighter Crawford has ever fought
They're not as explosive as ennis but both would've beat him by stoppage. I need to see a fighter test him to see if ennis has dog in him like Spence and Crawford do.
I'd argue that the Lipinets fight showed that Ennis has got that dog in him imo. Lipinets landed some bombs and Ennis didn't even really react to them.
Can you honestly see either Errol or Terry's chins withstanding that power? Then ask yourself do you honestly think Super Boots won't be able to touch their chins? Errol has spat his mouthpiece out three separate times now after being caught and hurt or hurt a bit IIRC against light hitters or ones who don't hit anywhere near as hard as Super Boots.
Only question is whether he can maintain his form and power in the second half of a fight. I thought for sure we'd find that out with Clayton, but I guess we're still waiting to get that answered. If the answer turns out to be yes, then we may well be looking at the next great welterweight.
