Uncovering Hypejobs... Lacy vs Bute.

Discussion in 'British Boxing Forum' started by tomj, May 26, 2012.

  1. I wouldn't say Bute was a hype job, he just wasn't as good as a lot of people thought he was.... and in turn Froch wasn't ready for the knackers yard like many people felt.

If he wants to he can come back and do well, but the standard of his performance was pretty shocking if I'm being honest, as was his ability to take Carl's shots.

Lacy was just crap, the typical overrating of an American that's unbeaten with a few tasty KOs. He was alright against the likes of Manfredo, but against decent operators he was always ****ed. Even Roy Jones battered him FFS.

Of course bute is now an exposed hype job joke, it's the esb way!!! Bute would be top 5 pound for pound if he had of won inside 5 last night. He was all the rage for a couple of years on here now he is a joke because he was defeated by another elite level champion?

And for those saying bute has a glass jaw, rewatch and see how many clean power punches the guy took before the stoppage. He is a champion who was simply beaten by the better man in Froch.

For those who doubted the cobra once again, shame on you!!!! For those of us who backed him, enjoy your extra cash!!......or lose it on the Scotland game later lol

These weaknesses had been seen against the poor Andrade before.

    This.

When people try to discredit this win will I make it simple for them.

Glen Johnson made it difficult for Froch. Bute shut him out in a clinical performance in his next fight.

He was right up there. Now we know, talented, hits hard, not very durable.

This is what happens sometimes when the best fight the best :deal

I was a big Calzaghe fan but I've got to say this was the bigger exposure. During the super six people were talking about Bute being the best SMW. Froch turned him out so quickly and easily. Bute was totally gone for the last 2 rounds.

Froch was relentless he smashed the **** out of a great boxer. But the chin of Bute has always been a question for me..

Lacy was a bigger hype job, contrary to popular belief i dont think Bute disgraced himself at all, he has a weak chin and that was why he was blown away in that kind of fashion, its not as if he was getting outboxed before he was getting hurt or anything like that. Froch put on the performance of a lifetime and credit must go to him for that unbelievable performance but to label Bute a hypejob at this point is unfair. Id like to see how Lucian recovers and rebounds, its pretty clear that he has got to move upto 175lbs, ive said it time and time again that shedding **** loads of weight to make lower weights does more harm than good.

Hype Job? Not a chance, Bute was a good champion, Froch is just simply the better fighter and was in complete beast mode last night.

Yep i think so Bill, the way he looked at ref to stop it was worrying he didn't even fight back really. He just looked totally blown away .

I don't mind Bute he seems a gentleman, But now fighters will fancy walking through him. He will have to be matched at level he was at prior to Froch. Fighting B level fighters which is no shame some champions make a career out of fighting at that level.

His problem was he felt he could better his resume and rep by beating a fragile Froch. I get impression he came over here thinking he'd win and win away from home with ease and show people what he's about. It backfired terribly for him. The Cobra struck back last night!.
    :deal Spot on.

Bute wasn't a hype job he just had NEVER felt the power of a hard-hitter like Froch, someone who once he senses blood really goes for the kill. The difference is he felt it against Andrade in the 12th and had time to survive, he felt it against Froch in the first and was on the backfoot getting brutalised and dismantled and had no escape.
