Undefeated Middleweight World Champion Jermall Charlo defended his WBC title with a show-stopping stoppage of Irish contender Dennis Hogan last night at Barclays Center in Brooklyn\ Yet not a single thread?
There was a thread last night. That fight got overshadowed by the HWs, and also because it was a size and skills mismatch. Jermall is wasting his prime with inactivity and meaningless bouts.
Maybe because Hogan is already a small super welter and fighting a big middleweight isn't exactly a fair matchup.
A feather fisted small light middleweight cherry pick got smashed to bits by a massive heavy handed super middleweight, what's there to say?
You mean like the RBR thread I made, with 400 replies and six thousand views? https://www.boxingforum24.com/threa...uke-iwasa-vs-marlon-tanan-tapales-rbr.640921/ It was on the first page from about 4:30pm EST until midnight, an hour after the main event concluded. What more do you want, exactly? For it to spawn a rash of spin-off threads (like Joshua vs. Ruiz II did, annoyingly)? Hooray, excess and clutter. Fight talk should be kept on a single thread, IMO. Most people that make threads, shouldn't. Hardly any individuals have as interesting a take as they believe they do. Maybe a poll thread on the presumed next opponent for the victor, fine, maybe one postmortem write-up, if done by somebody who knows the sport and can write decently well. The salmon-in-spring breeding frenzy that usually follows big match-ups on this forum, though, sickens me. You're not all that read-worthy; maybe 2% of you are.
Charlo only fights soft touches at MW. Last time he fought a live body even an ill prepared one he needed handpicked judges to bail him out.
So what’s the point of Charlo winning all these WBC sanctioned fights if he never gets the chance to fight Canelo Alvarez, the WBC’s real middleweight champ?
