Yeah, fighters from other eras were much more active and, thus, had less time to gamplan for each individual style while also having far less time to recover between fights. Bid factors.

They should bring back 15 rounds as well.

I agree. It's easy to have a long unbeaten streak if you don't always fight the best. You look at the fighters who have always looked for the toughest opposition and you will find a fighter that has lost. It's not a suprise that De La Hoya, Mosley and Pac have losses on their records it's impossible to be 100% and have the right strategy all the time.

    totally agree with that!
but it won't happen because it was changed to 12 because it would fit better into tv scedules.

i agree with what u said but to be fair to modern day boxers often when they do lose they are then called over-rated, hype jobs, past their best etc, so its not just the boxer/promoters/tv channels fault its also the fans fault too, we need to be more forgiving

Old school is the best school.

Julio Cesar Chavez was the last true old school fighter IMO, fighting around 6 or 7 times a year, not always vs the top guys in every fight but he still did fight them, nothing wrong with fighting an easy opponent to keep in shape & active so long as you face the men you are supposed to face as well.
Even Robinson didnt fight the best in every fight but he was a true fighter & kept active by actually fkn fighting, none of this twice a year bull****.

No, I think you'll find it was changed to twelve because of the Ray Mancini/Deuk-Koo Kim tragedy.

Very true. Whenever a boxer loses he his slated in the media and people opinions always turn towards the negative. When in soccer/football if a top team loses it just means they had a bad day. Why can't boxers have a bad day?

This is why I sometimes like rematch clauses as 1 fight isn't always enough to confirm that one fighter is superior to another.

Ok, didn't know that was the real reason... because it doesn't make too much sence does it. Tragedies like that can happen and did happen in 12 round bouts also.
Always heard that 12 rounds was more convenient.
