Is Marciano the only one? And I mean out of the ones worth mentioning. I don't know too much about Marciano so did he have any decisions that could have, or should have gone the other way? Any other mentions? Ward - Lost Kov 1 fight for me Floyd - 50/50 vs Castillo Calzaghe - 50/50 Hopkins, Robin Reid
Wasn't Marciano vs LaStarza 1 considered close and controversial ? Terry Marsh retired as an unbeaten world champion with no controversial decisions. A few others are Edwin Valero, Dmitry Pirog. Although all 3 of these fighters had to retire early for various reasons well we all know the deal with Valero.
Salvador sanchez, Ricardo Lopez Also ended their careers undefeated. Although i am not familiar enough with their careers to make a categorical statement
Salvador Sanchez had a loss to his name unfortunately and Ricardo Lopez' draw with Rosendo Alvarez in their first fight was controversial enough.
Out of every single undefeated world champ boxer ever, only Dmitry Pirog and Edwin Valero have no close or controversial decisions. Mihai Leu finished his career on a dodgy MD over Michael Carruth. Harry Simon famously robbed Winky Wright. Terry Marsh had a ropey draw early in his career. Jimmy Barry had 9 draws in his career, no doubt a few were controversial. Jack McAuliffe has 10 draws in his own, same logic applies here. Floyd has a dodgy win over Castillo. Marciano has an iffy one over La Starza. Ward shafted Kovalev in their first fight and arguably the second too. Lopez has his controversial draw with Alvarez. Calzaghe has his extremely narrow win over Hopkins. Kim Ji Won has two draws to the same guy which are shady. Pichit Sithbangprachan has a dodgy win over Jose Luis Zepeda. Sven Ottke is the infamous king of the hometown decision with about 11 undeserved wins to his name so that's everyone.
Lo Fury lost to McDermott clearly and should be stopped fight with average Wallin. Not very good. But Usyk is perfect. No controversion win. Clear wins only.
Not proven enough. He didn't beat Lewis, Holyroid, Tyson, Golotta, Riddick Bow..... should I continue? He doesn't have enough big sample of boxing record.
Ricardo Lopez's 1st fight with Rosendo Alvarez was close and could've gone either way, it was stopped early due a clash of heads ? And it went to the scorecards and was close it was scored a technical draw, Lopez was also knocked down in this fight aswell if i remember rightly. Their 2nd fight was also a Split Decision, although personally I didn't think it was that close I thought Lopez won clearly. Salvador Sanchez didn't retire undefeated he had 1 loss in his career, and also had a few disputed decisions 1 against Ford and a draw early in his career vs Escobar.
Undefeated is overrated to begin with. There been boxers with wat better streaks. Look at SRR post la motta loss for example. Thats way more impressive.
Usyk had a close decision vs Breidis that some people may of had him losing, although that would be a bit of stretch I believe I scored it 115-113 for Usyk.
I think the Dubois fight will remain a controversial for Usyk. There will always be an argument that he got stopped.
Same I'm one of those people that think it was a legit abdomen shot but I don't want to go into that debate again as it's been done to death.
