People have short memory's. They are going off Hattons k.o defeats and cotto doing well now. Prime hatton at 140 beats cotto. Cotto is perfect for hatton back then, cotto comes forward and likes a war, hatton has a better inside game than cotto. Be a great fight. Hatton struggled with movers and speed only.

I remember thinking this was a really good fight but then watched a guy like Collazo rock him badly in their fight in a fight I wasnt sure he won and changed my opinion of Hatton a little, though he went on to beat a big puncher in Urango

I may be overrating Cotto based on how the careers played out because at 140 he was rocked bad vs Corley and Torres though they may also be harder punchers. You'd see some great body punching in this fight

Yep. Cotto has a heart problem, Hatton doesn't. Cotto might even get stopped. Remember Chop-chop almost KO'ed Cotto.

Cotto never beat an A class fighter in their prime...plus he has a glass heart.

Hatton never beat an A class fighter in their prime, plus he has a Glass Jaw.

The fact is, Cotto's resume is FAR FAR superior to Hatton's.

You didn't see Cotto get brutally KO'd by featherfisted Mayweather now did you?

I'd put Kosta above anyone that Cotto beat.

Even if Kosta was past his prime (He really wasn't. He looked spectacular against Mitchell a few months before, and he'd taken a long lay-off, too) it's still a MUCH better victory than Cotto's against Martinez or anyone else.

Thing is is that Ricky looked like hell on wheel at 140. That 7lb weight difference when he went up took it's toll on him.

Cotto was so raw at 140. I mean, this is when Miguel had HAIR, right?:lol:

I do agree with you on the bodywork, though. Cotto had a phenomenal left to the body (if i recall rightly?) and Hatton was a savage, too.

Hatton's style is perfect for Cotto even at 140 where he was a bit more vulnerable. He beats Hatton at every weight.

Cotto was frail at 140. I think Hatton would stop him.

What up Auracle. We used to post on the Lawn board years ago.

No it isn't. See the Margarito and Pac fights for how Cotto deals with pressure.

It really isn't. Cotto needs space to get his shots off, Hatton wouldn't give him that space.

Pac was way faster and way more accurate. Hatton would just hit, hit, hold and try to get on the inside. Cotto dealt with the pressure from Margo fine until the later rounds where the questionable gloves come into play. Cotto had a way better skill set even back then. It would have been closer at 140 but Cotto would have destroyed Hatton at 147.
