Boricuan Alex de Jesus vs. tall rangy Texan jab machine Bulmaro Solis. Looks like a good styles matchup.

After one round I'm leaning toward the latter to win this. I don't like the way ADJ throws punches, he barely sets himself, keeps his hand way too low, and by his stance he seems to think his body is wider than it actually is. Both defenses are leaky, but Solis took some meat to the chin and didn't blink; I see attrition favoring him especially as his reach and footwork should allow him to land more.

    Anyone else watching?

I am. Did you see Mercedes knock that guy out in the 12th with that wicked left hook in the previous fight?

Looks that way. His punching form has improved alot, first must have been a feeling out round. And he can get away with holding his hand low because he's turning his head and catching alot of those jabs. If Solis keeps making the mistake of keeping his head up and out like that, it's eventually going to get ripped off.

OK, so my initial hasty prediction was dead wrong - it happens. :yep

Although De Jesus did throw primarily jabs in the first, and his jab is clearly not one of his sharpest tools. I had given Solis that round based on activity, his stiff jab and ring control; when in reality it laid the blueprint for a lot of wasted movement on his part and a lot of patient and carefully timed punches on ADJ's.
