    He'd come forward...

Then step back and lure Rocky into awful counterpunches. The Godoy II version(199lbs) would absolutely murder the Rock. He'd jab from a distance, and then lock heads up close, smothering punches and delivering his own to the head and the body. It ends with a short, snappy right hand counter that puts the rock out cold. KO9.

Marciano would put him under pressure, make him miss, crowd him, drop him once or twice. But than Louis would adjust...he would eventually find a combination of short punches that would work. After suffering a knockdown, a bloody Rock is stopped on his feet late.

this is a tougher fight than people think. I pick Louis as my number 1 heavyweight but Marciano has the best style to beat him other than Ali but it cuts both ways.

Joe Louis was the best power combination puncher ever.

Marciano got stronger as the fight went on and his power never faded and looking at the 1st fight with a less-talented and not as strong Godoy we see Louis having trouble with the crouch and the Schmeling fight showed a propensity to dropping the left, although somewhat corrected later.

I think Louis had the style to beat Ali and possibly be the 1st to Knock him out and although I think Louis would have trouble with Marciano's pressure and power he also would be a much better version than the Louis who fought Marciano he may in a tough position.

I think for Louis style Marciano and Dempsey would be very tough tests but I give him a better chance to pass the test against Dempsey after some real danger early. With Marciano Louis may feel the urge to mix early and get caught or take a big lead early to have Marciano come on. This fight could end with a brutal KO or a carefully planned tough fought decision.

I think Louis can take a decision but this would be the hardest fight of his life and would have to be at his very best.

I don't get some of these posts... Prime Louis comes forward and a lot... how on earth would you expect that to work against Marciano? It wouldn't.. Marciano KO 7

For the life of me i don't understand why people are saying that coming forward against Marciano is a terrible idea. If anything he demonstrated his specialty as an outboxer killer. Seems to me like smothering him and using your short punching to negate his range of preference would be more successful than a lot of you think. Charles AND Louis had success with it.

I've read alot itt about how Louis would lose becouse ''you dont come at rocky'' Well go watch some Joe Louis. Becouse guess what, the same exact thing can be said about him, A prime Joe Louis was one fighter you did NOT want to stand in front of, his punches would have felled any man on earth.

Who is to say that he would be "coming forward" against Marciano? Did he come forward against Max Baer? Not exactly.

Your out of your mind if you don't think Rocky would get up. Rocky would never stay down for a 10 count. The Referee would have to step in and save Rocky from further punishment. TKO.

Marciano had a 68" reach. "outboxer" your kidding right? Marciano made a living on smothering the **** out of fighters and using his leverage and T-Rex arms

A human being like everyone else. Louis had the speed/power combo that can bypass even the most iron of chins. And he proved it many times in his career.

I'm saying that's the kind of fighter he was best against. a killer of outboxers.. Please read.

NONE and I repeat NONE of them had the Chin of Rocky.. not a one. So I really fail to see the comparison here. What's worse is you even put non HW on this list as if getting put down by a man much larger than you isn't the norm.. when in fact it is.. chin or no chin.

I don't see how you can quantify something like that in the slightest. Either way, Louis could sleep a tough chinned guy, big or small. And did it frequently. Rocky could be knocked down, and certainly hurt... I don't know why suggesting that he could be knocked out(indeed, quite possible given that he was a human being) is so blasphemous.
