Prime Louis would be a little too much for Marciano. Rocky would be facing the best punching HW champ of all time with arguably the best jab of all time. Combine that with Louis' blazing hand speed and power and it adds up to a victory for the Brown Bomber. Not that it would be easy of course. Rocky was one tough SOB who had great stamina and carried his own vaunted power late into a fight but he would be meeting a precision power puncher with a more sophisticated arsenal of punches. When the 2 fought Joe didn't have the reflexes or the right hand anymore to follow his jab. He was pretty much a one handed fighter...jab and hook and he didn't have the legs to get him out of danger. Still he was able to bust up Rocky's face. Now imagine what a prime finely tuned asassin that Joe was would do to Rocky. I see Joe stopping Rocky on his feet after a tough fight...somewhere around the 9th or 10th and I wouldn't be surprised if Joe was put on his keester at some point either. Like I said, this would be a very tough fight for Louis but in the end Joe would be the winner.

 

Is the rule ducking below your opponents waist or your own? I think opponent. It's a rule that seems to be the least enforced because it's associated with a defensive skill/ability.

Marciano also had back problems.

 

I have to favour Louis, who is, to me, the greatest offensive force of the division's history. But I also have to never write off Super Parmesan "Intangible" Wonder Man. I have a hunch that if they fought three times, we'd have Louis winning by knockout, twice, and Marciano by knockout, once. A bigger, better, badder, crueler Zale/Grazianoish thing, I think they'd have going.
