Folley does well with the jab and the counter right hand early but his ultimate failure would be his stationary footwork, which leaves him vulnerable to Marciano's pressure and a fight-ending right hand that flattens Folley face first on the canvas.
I hope the tournament catches on. I'm sure most people have had enough of heavyweights but in this tournament format you can discuss some less appreciated small heavyweights/light heavyweights that there hasn't been much discussion about.
I like Marciano by late round ko. Folley is good but eventually Rocky grinds him down and stops him. Zora's lack of footwork will do him in. He'll be there to be hit sooner or later.
I don't see how Folley qualifies, as a rated fighter, say from his win over Machen, he had 43 fights and was appreciably over the 200lbs limit for 32 of them. That said, as good a boxer as he was he didn't have the fast feet needed to keep Rocky off him, he gets bombed here mid- rounds.
I think I voted on every one but Patterson/Jeannette, now. :bart What made you decide to go with Folley, anyway, Suz?
