I don't know Charles is technically better, Patterson that bit faster. I'd go with Charles because Patterson is more likely to make mistakes and leave openings

Ali and Liston were better than Charles's heavyweight competition outside of Rocky, I'll give you that, but as far as overall competition Charles consistently fought at a much higher level.

 

Charles gutted it out and fought with Rocky in a great display of balls and ruggedness. Check your facts before you imply something as ridiculous as "Charles ran from Marciano".
