A hell of a fight while both in their primes..Langford gives Johnson hell but I see Johnson pulls out a decision..both will prob hit the deck but Johnson's clinching and angles will get him the win down the stretch.. No shame on Langford though he's the greatest p4p but not Hw
A focused ,fit Johnson beats Langford , he cuts him and spears him with his jab ,uppercuts the crouching banger, and manhandles him inside .Langford lands a couple of big lefts over that right uppercut that force Jack to clinch for dear life but he weathers the storm, and wins convincingly.Langford'sface is swollen and puffy at the end, and there is no more talk of who is the best man now.
I've always been under the impression that a prime Langford knocks Jack out. While Johnson gets underrated by most, and while his clinching tactics would be effective on the smaller man, his low output would allow Sam to land the bombs and ultimately stop Johnson late
I'll agree with Vanos alternative. From what I've read, Johnson wanted little to do with Langford, agreeing to fight him after he beat Burns and then pulling out after claiming the title. I expect Johnson to win this, so I'll go Langford via late K.O.
:good Was reading the Johnson book flea and there was a great part in it when Sam approached Johnson in a nightclub. Langford suggested that both men went down to the cellar to see who the better man was once and for all. Johnson just looked at Langford, pulled his handgun out and suggested in no uncertain terms that Sam 'do one' (granted, not his exact words).
Johnson easily beat Langford when they fought, he again outboxes him on the outside and clinches and mauls him with uppercuts on the inside
atschatsch Jack Johnson vs RJJ must have been a blatant robbery if JJ managed to get past him but hey this is classic forum where anything before 50's is untouchable.
Its a pity the maker of this thread did not consult you ,think of all the years of viewing fights and ring experience you could have shared with him and us ? I feel distinctly deprived.:-(
