Tyson, Bowe, Moorer and Sugar Ray Valuev. Anyway stop changing the goal posts, you said Marciano made a career of beating bigger men, which isn't really true, that was Holyfield not Rocky

Over 200? Under 200? Maybe we dont have to have fights, all we have to do is weigh them in! Skill and will are what makes great fighters. Marciano would batter Holyfield. Were not talking Dwight Braxton here.

Marciano was considered a small Heavyweight. In his 5 most important matches he was either shorter or lighter then his opponent.

Yeah you're right, Evander had no skills and his will was as easy to break as a thin strip of ****-soaked toilet paper.

Seems to me that 1899sharkey, without exception, always pick the older fighter to win. I'm guessing he thinks the late 1700's era of bareknuckle boxing was the very peak of the sport.

Not saying it's wrong to pick Rocky over 190 lb Holyfield, just commenting on what I've seen of his posts.

Evander would edge it, imo. But, they'd probably take years off of each others' lives. Evander would likely have a game-plan, similar to what PP says, but get his rhythm and strategy thrown off, and roped into inside fighting where it gets vicious for both men and then go back to the game-plan with success, off and on, all night, and end up only just edging it on the cards. He'll get hurt, along the way, a few times, I suspect, and Rock will probably bleed. But, one for the ages, I suspect.

I would correct you for one certain thing, but I'm too proud of you, with regard to one certain other thing.

One was 37 and 38,one was 33 and 34 ,one was 36, and one was 40/42 [according to his mother].
Marciano made six title defences, in three of which he was the heavier man.

I would take a fit and game Joe Walcott or Archie Moore over "I had too much Birthday Cake" Bowe and "Tender Love and Care" Moorer.

No disrespect to Evander Holyfeild. My favorite fighter of the 90s. If this fight happened, him and Marciano would lay into each other trading punches like sadistic lunatics until somebody drops and doesn't get back up, I fear it would be Evander after a long hard fought brave effort.

But the Tyson wins are superb, as great as any in history.

The Holyfield of the first Qawi fight was just not ready for a fighter like Marciano.

He wasn't totally mature, and just wouldn't have the experience to handle a fighter like Marciano breathing down his throat.

It becomes a much more competitive fight just a couple years later for Evander, but its a one-sided beating then.

    Marciano KO8.
