The era I favor is the one where there was a boxing gym on every other corner . The one where every kid in america either played baseball or boxed. Call me old fashioned but i still believe that a school with 5,000 boys will get more good players than one with 50 boys. Do i think that post 80's boxing is downright pathetic compared to pre 80's boxing? absolutely. Go to the national g.g.'s and check out the quality.

People....UNDER 200lb. This means the Cruiserweight version of Evander. Tyson-Bowe fights are irrelevant

Of course, i predicted from the start that Rocky would win this poll on Classic turf.

marciano beat 4 way past their primes. holyfield's wins over bowe, tyson 1, qawi 1 were good and he also beat past prime foreman and holmes. all respect for rocky but evander kicks his ass, bad. this one is easy to see but not for the experts in classic.

Holyfield hangs tough and out-hustles Marciano. Uses his speed and combinations to get the nod despite getting blasted and hurt badly in a couple of rounds. Fights back and hurts Marciano most likely and at least keeps the rounds close when he loses them.

    Holyfield UD.

Right. Of course. There you go. They were all worn out cripples on life support. The fact that you would compare Bowe, Tyson, and Qawi{!} to Louis, Charles, Moore, or Walcott is pitiful.

If we're talking HW Holyfield.... Well, he'd take it in a masterclass IMO, UD.

CW version? I wonder if he has the same durability(and obviously none of the roided strength). He certainly had more speed at this juncture, but the experience? Dunno. Marciano by UD would be my best guess.

your looking at names and not where the fighters were in their careers at the time of these fights. the holyfield win over bowe is more impressive than the marciano win over louis. if you don't understand this, you need to follow a different sport. i'm sure there's some poker or fantasy football sites you can post on.

Holyfield over Bowe is quite clearly a better win than Marciano KO Louis.

Says who? Louis was 8 and 1 with three KOs before he met Marciano and was the favorite to win. Holyfield beat a fat Bowe who had to lose 60 lbs before the match.

He was also objectively far past his prime. His right hand was a shadow of what it was, combinations hadn't been truly intact for ages, and his feet were flat in terms of mobility and putting torque on his punches. It was what it was- a decisive win over a good contender essentially, because that's what Louis had been reduced to at that point. Bowe was the lineal champion, and in his prime. I don't have to point out the size disadvantage.

Sure, but Holyfield was on steroids. Not to mention you didn't pay attention to the thread. Holyfield at CRUISERWEIGHT, not the 215lb roided holyfield

Quite frankly I don't care. Bowe probably was on something too, olympic athletes and all that.
