The only thing Bowe was on for the rematch with Holyfield was a steady diet of cakes and burgers. But I do agree that it was a better win than Marciano-Louis. That much should be obvious.

Despite a spare tire around his waist, Bowe had not actually lost much ability compared to their first fight although his conditioning may not have been as good. That did not come to account considering that he got a breather when the parachuter crashed in.

Marcianos' win over Louis was better for any number of reasons than Holyfields win over fat Bowe.

It's a fight where I honestly can see both men winning. Surely, Holyfield could handle the trenches better than Charles. However, look how much trouble Qawi gave Holyfield in their first meeting. I'd probably agree with the sentiment that Holyfield didn't have enough of the experience at CW to handle Marciano. It's the second half of the fight where Marciano takes the tide in my view. I think Holyfield would at the CW period get into perhaps too many trench type moments that could cost him grave consequences. Holyfield had a good right hand, but he described his left hook as being natural for him. Against Marciano, he's not going to want to get into a hooking contest. I'll say Marciano UD over 15.

    What a joke! :nut:nut:patsch

Shot Oldman Louis was 38 years old And shot-to-****.

Bowe was a prime superheavy And deadly for 12 Rounds of war, if you think he was fat, you are blind or anerexic. :hi:

You mean the unknown Humphrey Jackson, who was 4-2 when they fought, & retired at 4-3?

Marciano beat an ATG. A legend even at that point. A Man who was in the midst of a successful comeback. Marcianos victory over Louis was pivotal in both their carrers. It sent Louis into retirement and oblivian, and launched Marciano onto the path of greatness. Holyfields victory over Bowe was a hard fought victory, and nothing more. What ATG did Holyfield dominate and KO? The answer? None. How many ATGs did he beat? Two. Foreman and Holmes. Both Aged 42. Talk about fighting Fossils. :rofl :hi: :smoke

Not at all. No one has yet explained how Holyfield beating Bowe was a better win than Marciano defeating Louis. How? Was it historically more significant? Was Marcianos' win over Louis less significant to his career then Holyfields win over Bowe?
