I get the feeling that there is more underachieving between the HW than in other wheight classes. Lots of fighters with real talent who never reach their full potential.
Is it too many troubled minds? power degradates health too fast? lack of hunger? greedy promoters?

    What do you guys think?

    Just to name a few:
    Vitali K
    Mccall
    Tua
    Mesi
    Mike Tyson
    Bowe
    Foreman
    Ike Ibeabuchi

Well there is also the part that you dont have to make weight. If fighters know that they dont need to boil down, then they wont kill themselves will they? Obviously some did, but others like Bowe just got lazy. You earn a lot at heavy also, and when you have money you can lose your desire and edge. I have 23 amateur fights, (but havent fought since I was 16) and it hurts. Goddamn it hurts. Think what its like at heavyweight with no protection and monstrous punches raining down. Must be Hell. And when you have money, you may very well just think whats the point? Look at Jermain Taylor. He dont enjoy fighting, and look what happened to his career.

Juan Gomez comes to my mind! He has all the talent of this world, but has been too lazy to prefer sweating in a gym to partyhing and hunting girls.
He could have been an old time great.

Tyson b/c he is a dumbass...in my country they have this saying "God forbid a poor man becomes rich" meaning that they dont know the value of that money, and spend it badly, like many rappers, actors, and Tyson has done.

Vitali had a health issue. He had heart, spirit and was always in best class. Even outside boxing he has done well. But like Homer Simpson once said: "All my life I been an obese man stuck in a fat man's body" I think Klitschko is a superb boxer in spirit, but his body, although very strong, could not catch up to his spirit.
