Underated fights that are never mentioned

I definitely agree with you about this one. I've always thought that had John stayed injury free and steered clear of "Out of the ring problems" he would have been up there with the great 175lb champions such as Archie Moore and Michael Spinks. He had that much talent.
I would also put John's first fight with Matthew Saad Muhammad into the mix. John faded out after the thirteenth round but it was very close up until then.

 

Not as much as I'd like them to be.

I reckon most of "top contender" fights ought to have been discussed a lot through the years.

Zamora also had a criminally underrated battle w/ Alberto Sandoval in what would turn out to be his last notable victory.

Not saying that it was a great fight, but I thought that Pinklon Thomas vs Mike Weaver was really entertaining.
The fight with Berbick also deserve mention, especially the 5th round which was excellent.
