Allegedly, Clottey might be fighting for the vacant IBF belt on the undercard.

Bob Arum is very good to the fans, he always makes sure to put on good undercards Margo/Cotto should be no diffrent.

I don't think that radio station knows what they're talking about.

GL: When will Margarito vacate the IBF title officially?

The Bobfather: When the IBF tells us to. In other words, when it is clear under the agreement we have under the IBF. Once Margarito signs to fight Cotto, and not to fight Clottey, the title is vacated and Clottey will fight for the vacant title. That's not all bad because Clottey, I think, beats any other welterweight out there. If he steps up to the plate as a viable opponent for Cotto or Margarito, whoever wins in July.

The undercard for Mosley/Cotto sucked. Arum matched Margo up with some guy he picked up off the street, who only showed up for the check. Ortiz was matched up against a 36 year old has been who went down from a cheek shot in the first round. Casa/Santa Cruz was also a terrible fight that ended in controversy(at least that fight looked good on paper).

Yeah I agree but in other Cotto fights Arum has done very good like when Cotto fought Quintana the undercard was Margo/Clottey and when Cotto fought Gomez recently you had Margo/Cintron,even tho we knew what the results were going to be for that particular card it was still entertaining to say the least.

That card contained two gross mismatches. Everyone knew Cintron and Gomez were going to get slaughtered. It's one of the reasons the fight didn't sellout and had poor ratings.

Look at the Cotto/Judah fight. There were two blatant mismatches on the undercard and then 1 fight that looked good on paper(the fight ended up being boring). It seems Arum is deadset on using his undercards as a showcase platforms for other fighters in his stable; matching them up with pure, unadulterated set-ups.

I'll rephrase that, most people with a clue knew that Cintron was going to get slaughtered. Cintron got slaughtered in the first fight and struggled badly against D level Feliciano. I don't see how anyone gave Cintron much of a shot. And no, Cintron does not have the tools to beat Margo. He's tailor made for Margo. He's not that good of a boxer, he has no inside game, he lacks heart, and he also lacks speed, defense, and good footwork. All Cintron can do is punch. Unfortunately, that does him no good against a guy with a great chin. Who cares about the ratings? Well clearly the ratings indicate that people weren't interested in this card. The two mismatches could be a big reason why. No one outside of hardcore fans wants to spend their Saturday night watching two fights were the outcome is painstakingly predicitable and lopsided.

Embarassingly, I did pick Cintron. :scaredas:

Not my worst prediction, though. :admin

Margarito-Cotto I'm picking... Cotto. In almost every big fight Margarito has, I'm wrong. Pick him to take Paul Williams, picked him to beat Daniel Santos, picked Cintron, wow. Never get his fights right.

i'd be guessing this would be another P.R-mex card so it would be likely mexicans and puerto ricans on the same card. These are my guesses

    kermit cintron
    roman martinez
    probably abner mares too

The undercard was fine..it gave us 2 knock outs, which is pretty much the best you can expect from an undercard. Then we get a robbery that I'll be able to tell my grandkids I saw live...the greatest robbery I've ever seen.

Cotto/Judah had a very entertaining undercard, Bobby Pac/Soto was a fun fight while it lasted and then you got drunken ramblings by Larry Merchant on ring side girls and horrorscopes.

If you want a bad undercard, it'd be Pavlik/Taylor II.
