I don't understand the Mick Hennessey style of promoting either. I don't understand why the Furys have stayed with him this long.
It's absolute shite, I agree. But that doesn't suddenly make Matchroom void of criticism. Far as I can see their card's chief support this weekend is Ted Cheeseman-Francisco Lezzi...
yes and this weeks card is a friday night next gen non ppv streamed on facebook and sky sports, not a PPV event you tool, how can you compare a nxtgen card to a ppv card wow.
My mistake, I forgot in your first message you specified Matchroom PPV. Either way, my point does remain. Anyone putting on a poor PPV card should be harshly castigated. This doesn't alleviate potential Matchroom PPV shows from criticism
true but if you compare this ppv to any of match rooms then you cant really criticize them because other promoters are charging money for way worse cards. Match room ppv cards usually have a really big main event and average under card or a very good main event and a good undercard. Fury vs Parker is a good main event with a shambolic undercard.
Not quite sure about the financing of this fight... So originally when Parkers team won the purse bid it was scheduled to happen in NZ....then team Fury had one of their dodgy 'injuries'.... So as it has been rescheduled to take place about 12,000 miles from its original destination, who is financing it now? From what I can see, it is very unlikely any promotor can break even on this event.....
I think the assumption would be that since the NZ pull out, the Fury's/Hennessy are now financing the fight to happen in the UK... FW lost the original fight purse bid hence why Duco were holding the fight in NZ but after the pull out they must of renegotiated with Hennessy (since it looks like FW isnt involved at all anymore). Ive said on this forum before its why the whole team fury are so frustrating they seem to operate in this cloud of mystery where no one seems to know what the hell is going on... I doubt even they know what they are doing half the time.
Is that so?....that FW no longer has any involvement with this fight? Not doubting you, but honestly didn't know that, so thanks for the info.
That's how travellers seem to operate, under a cloud of mystery. I get the feeling that they'd finance this fight and make it happen on a country lane if they had to. This fight will deffo happen.
