Topic for discussion, change of pace. :bbb

There is no doubt that the underdog pulling off the upset is impressive, to say the least, but do we tend to overrate this? Is that the product of the underdog being underrated? I believe hype plays a major role in what general consensus value is placed on a fighter. How often are we "fooled" into believing X fighter has little to no shot? What things do you take into consideration when determining the underdog? Skills, size, reputation, ranking? Or maybe the betting favorite is actually overrated... If the "underdog" pulls off the upset, were they truly an underdog (without misconception), or underrated?

Can anyone give some examples of being an actual underdog and overcoming odds vs being underrated? Or how about the favorite just being overrated?

    Definition for reference...

Underdog: An "underdog" is a person or group in a competition, usually in sports and creative works, who is popularly expected to lose.

Underrate: underestimate the extent, value, or importance of (someone or something).

Tell me something Did you ever meet Randy Turpin.??? No
so how can you judge him and post something like that
I met Randy & his brother s **** & Jackie seyeral times as a kid. They lived in Leamington England about 30 miles from my home town
To do what Randy did, or what they CLAIM he did, he must have been in a terrible state mentally. All I know is he made a little kids dream come true when he said to the reporter interviewing him " Im Randy Turpin middleweight champion of the World & this is my buddy CJ the future middleweight champ " I felt 10 feet tall

Split decision, very unfortunate way to lose such a streak. But out of 90 fights, you're bound to have an off night.
