His ego is almost as big as mine. We get in a lot of debates and I don't think he could stand losing them all, so he started brushing up on the HWs. I thought it was really funny.
All but 20 or so who won British, Commonwealth or European Titles. A career's worth of pain and sacrifice which elevates these guys above more ordinary Fighters which goes all but unnoticed. I could quote hundreds of examples. I would imagine there are some British fans on here who would need to Boxrec Jimmy Cable. The list is almost endless.
Ken Norton, people seem to think he loses to every puncher going, what? Because he lost to George Foreman He also lost to shavers and Cooney in 1, but he was completely washed by then
Seems pretty obvious to me REAL boxing fans cannot stand fighters blatantly CHEATING !! Boxing is a dangerous enough sport if everything in it is kept within the rules. I firmly believe any fighter, no matter who he is, who has been proven to have abused Ped's should lose their licence permanently. That would be the only way to stop the corruption that is so rife today. But there is one problem with that ?? Who is going to enforce the rules ??Please dont say the State Commissions. That is where the corruption is most rife you only have to look at a few instances of the big $$$$ guys being allowed to practically get away with murder & avoid punishment The old saying is very true !! MONEY$$ IS THE ROOT OF ALL EVIL!!
True, but I’m pretty sure all boxers take some sort of ped’s once they reach a certain level. Didn’t Ali’s doctor say he was giving him roids.
I doubt Tyson wasn’t also a steroid cheat and he also fought dirty. Holyfield’s steroid abuse was just much more obvious
If Tyson took anything, he probably did it in the second half of his career, not in the 80s. Therefore his greatest wins were not due to steroids.
Lewis was 210 lbs or so when he began his career, wasn't he? And he wasn't a child, he was 23 years old. Sure, some guys fill out over time, and its certainly possible that Lewis was clean. But IMO steriods were so prevalent in that era that its not out of the likelihood that he did them. Even if you don't use them to get big, you can use them for greater endurance or the ability to train more, etc. We know Vitali did steriods, ditto for Holyfield and Morrison. Ike probably did too. Tua and Lewis are a little less likely but still very much possible. In my opinion, boxing hasn't been tough enough on steriod use.
