Tommy Morrison was obliterated by Ray Mercer, went life-and-death with Joe Hipp, and blown out in one round by Michael Bentt.
It's hard to argue that he was denied by the strength of the era.

Hipp is underrated and Morrison broke both hands and his jaw in the fight and still KO'd him, shows alot about his heart. Vitali quit with 2 rounds to go while way ahead on every card because one of his shoulders were injured.

Who out of the opposition Dempsey, Marciano, Louis, Patterson and Liston beat would you favour to beat Morrison? Honestly...

    Honestly?

    Most of the key names.

You seem to be in denial about how limited Morrison was.

Who seriously I want you to tell me. I'm aware of Morrison's limitations but they arn't as bad as people think. His positives are really underappreciated too, hence why I think he's underrated.

Only names I could understand would be maybe Max Baer and Bonavena. Maybe Williams too, but I'd still favour Morrison over them.

He is and went on about this recently when he said Morrison had a better chin than Buddy Baer.

If the guy is loosing his title to Michael Bentt, and you are picking him over the cream of the top contenders of several decades, then something is wrong.

In fact saying that something is wrong, dosn't even cover it.

You are probably in contention for being the person who has the most unrealisticaly high expectations of a fighter on this forum.

I'm not doubting Tommy Morrison's heart and I'm not saying Joe Hipp was a joke.
But the point is, Morrison lost fights to, and struggled with, guys who were not the real elite of the division at the time, in his prime.

    that's probably a long list.

And if we were to judge Dempsey soley on his defeat to Fat Willie Meehan or being starched by Fireman Flynn? What about a prime Louis losing to a past it 185lber in Schmeling? Or how about Tyson losing to Douglas? Lewis to Rahman? Foreman to Young? etc.

Maybe I do or maybe you have unrealistically low expectations? Not once have you acknowledged a single good aspect Morrison had but just spewing the extremely simply "Bentt beat him...". Flip it and let me say that if Louis lost to Schmeling than Morrison would certainly murder him and see how simple that logic is.

Would Schmeling beat Ruddock, Foreman or Williams? Don't think so. His greatness is based on 1 fight other than that he has Uzcudun and Walker. Does Walker go 8 rounds coming straight at Morrison? No he doesn't. Also don't say Sharkey cos he never really beat him.

Schmeling was far, far better than Morrison. I'm surprised this is even a debate.

Max Baer would crush Tommy too.
