Paul Briggs - Adamek versions I and II.

Two of the best title fights I've seen and never talked about.

on my computer. Totally forgot about it. Johnson hit Saad with everything but the kitchen sink, and Saad soaked it up and won by tko.

is overshadowed by the Marquez fights, but this series IMO was just as good. Doesnt get as much attention because it wasnt for the Ring Title. That punch he kayord Vazquez with was sick.

You forgot one and Im sure you watched it......

....Think it won fight of the year in 1999. This was one of the highest skill level slugfests I've ever seen.

If we're talking since 2000, how about Leonard Dorin/Raul Balbi?? Absolutely savage fight, and for sustained action, a better fight than either Gatti/Ward I or Morales/Barrera (though that fight was at a higher level).

    And nobody every mentions it.

Not a GREAT fight, more of a beat down, but it had its moments.

Another one that I loved was Kenny Keene/Terry Ray I, two big, white, slow Cruisers just pummelling each other for 12 rounds. Great war. The Gatti/Ward of the Cruisers.

    Robert Quiroga-Kid Akeem Anifowoshe
    Carl Thompson-Ezra Sellers
    Tim Littles-Frankie Liles 2

Most of it was slow though, as rounds 1-5 and 7-11 were tactical. It was suspenseful and had a great finish, but most of it was a chessmatch.

I preferred the first Matthew (Franklin) Saad Muhammad-Marvin Johnson fight over the 2nd, although both were great. The Yaqui Lopez rematch is another great Saad fight. That one is mentioned and remembered more (The Ring called it FOTY and ranked round 8 as one of the 12 most exciting rounds in history), but another great Saad fight that isn't mentioned much was the bout with Richie Kates.
