I've noticed there's a very good amount of underrated heavy weights and they all tend to be over the age of 35. Why is this?
Experience and they have the professionalism to hang around that long. Unlike some younger ones who expect to be stars despite not having the self discipline to train and diet well enough to make it to the top.
Not to mention that phenomenon is not restricted to the heavyweight division alone these days. Some of the lighter weight divisions have matured fighter in them too.
He's ok. For such slow feet , he has pretty good positioning. Nice punch accuracy too. Thats about it. But it was enough to make a fool out of Wlad for a number of rounds before his power bailed him out as usual.
Like i heard franklin lawrence put an extreme beating on Bermane STiverne until frank dislocated his arm and was never given a rematch. Lawrence near the age of 40 and 3-4 years older than bermane. Just surprises me that "better fighters" never get a shot. Seems like it really is all about promotion and not quality of the fighter himself.
