Which fights of the modern era do you think are underrated, lost as they are beneath the plethora of classics like Barrera-Morales I, Vasquez-Marquez III, Corrales-Castillo I and Gatti-Ward I.

I'll throw a couple into the hat that I feel don't get brought up as often as they should when great fights are discussed:

Israel Vasquez - Jhonny Gonzalez: Vasquez down twice early, trailing big on all the judges scorecards, comes back to stop his lanky foe. Early doors it looked like Vasquez had just met his stylistic nightmare in Gonzalez, but he adapted so well and kept up a constant stream of pressure, until Gonzalez was all but gassed-out with fatigue. I feel that this fight is up there with the very best.

Edwin Valero - Vincente Mosquera: Valero has his first crack at a world title; he puts Mosquera down in the first round and everyone thinks its gonna be another one round blowout for the Venezuelan (which would have been very impressive taking into account that his opponent was a big step up in class from those he had fought before); but Mosquera sucks it up and comes roaring back to floor Valero soon after; a back and forth tussle ensues in which Valero finally gets the upper hand and dispatches his foe late on.

Any others that you can think off?

    Very underrated I feel.

Mayweather won nearly every round, but N'Dou poured his heart into that fight and gave Mayweather plenty of trouble (especially in the early rounds); and the finish...wow...three or four straight rights down the pipe...awesome.

I never liked Mayweather till I saw this fight. His defence is absolutely exquisite in this one. There is one point where N'Dou backs Floyd up against the ropes and then unloads about 15 hooks aimed straight at Mayweather's skull, and NONE land. He slips and catches every one, it's incredible.
