My Dinner with Conteh posted P4P list from 1977 and it was very surprising to see Zarate rated as the number 1 fighter in the world. I've heard that Mike Gibbons once was regarded as the best fighter in the world. On the other hand were Burley or Charles regarded as highly by general public as they are today? Post some examples of fighters who are overlooked but were highly regarded in their prime and vice versa.
Obviously Oliver McCall was underrated during his time and still is . I'd rather not start with it , but usually most prospects , challengers and titlists turn 2b vastly overrated when d time passes . Roy Jones Jr. whose resume is thinner than Eubanks' was , is and will remain overrated sadly . Eubanks at least fought a few live and a few semi live opponents . D same can't b (honestly) said of Roy . Cautious Play is like Roy Jones Jr. except he fought more live opponents but made up 4 it with his bigger size advantage over them (in average of course) and most importantly with his fouling and d criminal help of his trainer , Angelo "Dundee" Mirena .
