The guy is like 37. Fighting washed up opposition once a year doesn't deserve this level of hype.

One of things I like about Joyce is his record. He hasn’t fought anyone with more losses than wins. 13 kos in 14 fights. Already won British, commonwealth and European titles plus a bunch of others.
That’s the way to do it!

Hammer, Takam and Dubois are decent wins, and he won convincingly.

It's a real shame he didn't get to fight Parker, that would have been a solid win and earn him a title shot.

He still has to be tested properly though.

I'd say he can survive so far...
Dubois is the biggest hitter he's faced so far via the eye test. If AJ starts bouncing shots what happens?, Wilder?, even current Fury or Whyte who I don't think is a huge puncher but certainly a decent hitter.

I like Joyce for the reasons you mention and so far he's taken everything fine I did see Hammer land a right over the top and Joyce did take a step or 2 back I don't think he was hurt but there was a pause for a second makes me wonder if the elite tag what happens. I suppose that's in the interesting thing about him.

Someone just pushing forward and you can't stop them. Hammer seemd OK untill round 4 and then pressure made him crack..

Would like to see him in with some top tier fighters but he's probably the president of the who needs him club at the moment.

It's not just the hitter, it's also how well he took the shots. He took big shots and it looked like it didn't even effect him.

it's not just the strength of the bunch, it's how he absorbed them. The sorts of punches he's taken against the likes of Dubois and Takam and not even been phased, would have hurt other fighters.

The effects of hitting Joyce thus far is seemingly like hitting the proverbial brick wall.

Only time will tell regarding his full overall potential as long as he gets some big names and big paydays.

Agreed. He will step up when he's 39, and probably get chinned.

What hype?? JJ isn't a very hyped person here. And so what?? Hype is just fans liking him. He doesn't deserve fans??

Funny that you omit Jennings, who came the closest to beating Joyce and may well have got the decision had he been the home/A-side fighter. Even a washed up, fat as f*ck, inactive old Stiverne put up more sustained resistance than Hammer did. Takam did far worse than Jennings or Dubois, got stopped in 6 and never had a chance of going the distance.

Ian Lewison was a very good debut opponent for Joyce and he did a better job than an 18-1 Whyte too.

Takam gassed in 5 and got stopped in 6. Jennings went 12 rounds, didn't fade late and many observers had him beating Joyce, in Joyce's backyard.

    You're a dumb, crude pervert.
