Most of them har prety sold credentials.

You can find fault with some choices, but Louis's level of activity buys him some slipage.

I can think of $3,000,000+ reasons why Larry fought Marvis Frazier...:D

Though the WBC and Nevada State Boxing Commission did not recognize it as a Title Fight.

Yeah, but surely everytime a heavyweight champ steps into the ring, the title has always been on the line. Ok, it was done 90yrs ago, but not again since Baers 'exhibition'. Im all for fighters making as much money as they can, its a tough game, but do you not agree Larry would have been better suited fighting a more appropriate contender? After all, he had claims levelled at him even then for not fighting certain guys (even though he was widely accepted as the man)

    Jack Finnegan who challenged Jeffries!

Jeffries made the lubin elite "8" all-time battle royal:

Your wasting your time, this is an Ali and Patterson bash thread.

Larry Holmes can do no wrong. Apparently even the Alfredo that Holmes fought, grew into a legit top contender unlike that undeserving bum who faced Ali not long before.

Carl Williams dealt with his power , along with many others .
D hardest puncher in history is no other than David Tua .
    Bert Cooper might be d 2nd .

    Disagree about both .
Chuvalo gave Patterson a year earlier "the fight of the year" and less than a year and a half b4 stopped Doug Jones . In between he squeezed lots of recorded sparing sessions vs bums , losing a decision 2 1 of them and losing a decision 2 d glorified sparing partner in Ernie Terrell , and after all of this he proved himself as a worthy challenger to Ali .

Patterson was virtually undefeated since his loss 2 Ali , 3 years earlier , in which he had a problem with his back .
It is good 2 have former champions getting repeated shots when they r in fighting shape .

Weaver had 4 stoppage losses and 4 decision losses prior his shot at Holmes . Duane Bobick had a better record and stopped Weaver but retired because of his **** record .

Peters deserved a rematch after his 1st fight vs Wlad , d thing is that that fight ruined him . And Holyfield needs 2 take care of a lot of his descendants so he deserves it in a way , he also gave so much 2d sport . And Rahman is relatively good 2 watch , and wasn't that old , and was still 1 of d best , as bad as it is and might have had a claim 2 Vitali ducking him back in his day .

by winning d right 2 fight Ferguson deserved his title challenge .
Not 2 mention he had a history of being competitive vs d best : McCall , Douglas , Norris , Smith and a stoppage over Reggie Gross ( who stopped both Bert Cooper & Charles Williams ) .
Ferguson was above d average level of title challengers in history .
His problem was that he was in vs Bowe , whom would have thrashed almost every 1 in history .

No, not in my opinion; he beat the man, who was due to have the shot. At least he earned his shot, unlike some...
