Is something seriously wrong with you, in the book Joe Louis also fights Lennox Lewis are you also going to say errr how can that happen Louis died before Lennox was a pro It's a fantasy book with the best fighting the best all in their primes, extra characters are added to make it more interesting that's it Do you also see Game of Thrones and start debating how dragons can't exist Just chill out it's a book that hopefully get's more people talking about a sport we both clearly are passionate about and brings attention to some overlooked past greats that are not known to younger audiences Finally Usyk beating Fury also dispelled the myth that bigger modern day greats would easily beat the smaller fighters of the past Why don't we do this no point debating something until you've actually read it, grab the kindle version it's only 2.99 and once you have read it come back to me on the following two questions That you still think I don't know anything about boxing That you actually disagree with more than 5% of the outcomes of the fights If you still think I know nothing or genuinely disagree with a lot of my results I'll refund you the cost
Dude, Marvis Frazier was about to turn 26 when Tyson beat him. Joe was in his prime at the same age (25/26). Yank was his man in the corner. You're the one who claims to have written a story about Tyson knocking out a 25-year-old Marvis and Joe, Marvis' 25-year-old dad, wanting revenge. Then asking for feedback, and just dismissing the flaws in that because some other people like dragon stories. Even when you create a fake world,. what occurs has to.make sense in that world. Good luck with your book. I don't need to read it. I'm not a fan of dragon stories.
You are fixated on this age issue I already explained the boxers are in their primes, the fight with Marvis was just to add some backstory how are you not getting this
Fair play to you there mate, don’t listen to the negativity you achieved what you set out to do, it’s not really my cup of tea but I will buy it and give it a go. Don’t stop now keep the momentum going. I think everyone here should support you in this endeavour regardless of what they think about the content.
I got my copy delivered today. It is nice to read the fantasy heavyweight fights. Thanks, Bruce Anthony. I'm glad I bought it.
Small announcement the book hit number 1 on Amazon yesterday, thanks for the orders guys it all helps This content is protected
I think belaboring some of the finer points of poetic license here (ie creating "wrinkles in time" in order to make certain narrative details fit) is missing the point. This is clearly a labor of love by a fan, for fellow fans, meant for entertainment and to spark conversation. It isn't passing itself off as the definitive viewpoint of a historian on any of these matchups - and honestly, even if any esteemed boxing historian did publish such a book it would still be subjective opinion dressed up in a lot of pomposity. This is a fun exercise in what-ifs, and I think it's pretty explicit that you may or may not agree with the outcomes. Hell, even if you go the other way on all of them, it doesn't make this any less interesting a window into another boxing fan's thinking with a lot of thought & care put in.
Thanks I couldn’t have said it better myself one thing I will say is once you have read the book and seen the reasoning behind the results most people would agree with the majority of the conclusions I reach as they are based on logic and data not emotion but with something like this you can never know who would have predicted Usyks heavyweight dominance when he had problems against Chisora
