All boxers can punch if needed, (exception heavyweights, where size/fitness varies due to unrestricted weight) Ottke & G-Man both at 168, one is considered "featherfisted", the other is "puncher", but if measured by PSI they will not differ that much. G-Man mindset is too look for the KO, Ottke was more confident & comfortable to box his way to a decision, now to answer your original question. Ottke KO of Anthony mundine This content is protected
Maybe "featherfist" was too harsh. Even a weak punching boxer could knock out a random person on the streets. And even if a guy has a sub-50% KO ratio, it's still not a good idea to keep getting hit by him.
Danny Garcia KO'ing Amir Khan Garcia had gone the full distance with shot Erik Morales, glass jawed Kendall Holt, Ashley Theophane, Nate Campbell and more. Khan cherry picked him because of his lack of power but it backfired badly lol.
Canelo's not featherfisted, but he only has average power at best. Golovkin was able to take his punches without even blinking, and he couldn't even one-punch glass-jawed Kirkland (he dropped him twice before finally knocking him out), but he nearly killed Khan with one punch.
This was the very first one that came to mind!! Shows how if you hit the perfect place with the perfect leverage and timing even a feather fist can hurt you sometimes.
Some boxers seem to be intentionally "featherfisted" for some reason or another An example of a truly unexpected KO by a boxer who tries to avoid winning by KO, truly unintentional bodyshot, resulted in Cuenca only 2nd KO victory out of 48 wins, Cuenca looked slightly disappointed that he just caused a KO In Rioplatense This content is protected
I bet you the majority on this forum would be surprised how HARD the lightest hitters really can hit. Not me though, im a freaking pro!!!
Most will be shocked on how average boxers punching power is (compared to normal strikers), punchers are distinguished by being good at implementing punching power vs boxers, the so called feather-fisted boxers prefer boxing superiority, because they don't want to get caught. Not getting hit, remains the primary element in boxing that distinguishes a boxer from a civilian, lots of humans can load up a high PSI punch, but only boxers can land a punch vs a mobile boxer. (Cotto understands this best)
