Of course, the genius Emanuel Steward said that this fight was "Exactly how I expected it to go"

If people have DeMarco-Linares in the running for FOTY (which they shouldn't, as there have been at least a dozen vastly better wars this year) then Alvarado-Prescott should instantly replace it on those lists. It's just a better version of the same thing.

I thought for sure he'd have retired that silly phrase by now after having been ridiculed to end over it. It's been a while since he dug it out.

...and then BAM! He punctuates one of his worst ever commentary gigs with the ol' classic.

Seriously, how anti-Marquez was he tonight? All of HBO, but particularly Steward? Disgusting. Then he caps it off with "it went exactly how I predicted".

**** you, Steward. Go train unpopular heavyweight champions or something.

I have Ortiz-Berto at #1 for FOTY... Alvarado-prescott has to be in the top 5! Alvarado was bleeding all over the place and he stormed back and got the TKO win against the game Prescott! Good stuff

For the record I had Pacquiao winning 7 rounds to 5.. It was a close but clear win for Manny! I think people just got excited because the fight was not a blowout!

He's a moron... He can't even name you a brand of boxing glove, let alone score a fight.

We watched the goddamned fight and those rounds were so gotdamned pretty CLOSE!!! I scored some rounds in favor of PAC due to his last second landed punches and aggressiveness. but some of them just pure Marquez rounds. I gotta put my scorecards we made with my mate, which almost similarly was the same with me.

as a Pacfan an a JMM fan, I gotta give props to Juan Manuel Marquez who gave a lot of heart and dedication for the fight. For me, it seems Juan won, with SD or 2 rounds at best. Pac did seem to know he lost, but whoa! he won by Majority decision?

Damn, this hennesy, san miguel, corona, remymartin and heineken is killing me!

the problem was that, this was a championship fight. Marquez should have fought as the challenger, not just countering his way as pac moves forward, but that's what juan is- a boxer puncher. the main problem with pac was that, he really really sucks at right straights and uppercuts which juan easily capitalized. I was looking for pac's lateral movements, but it was either muted by juan, or he was just intimidated by juan's great counters. marquez took the offense, and I gave him his due rounds for that. I gotta rewatch this fight in order to conclude this fight.

and here comes the jaggermeister. WTF!!!

For a second before the scores were announced, I thought Marquez was going to get his 4th Division title and hear "and new!" but then I remembered there was a May-Pac fight that had to happen and thought automatically at best it's going to be another draw, that's IT! another Draw! but no, Pac got a gift, Marquez with the age and weight division experience disadvantage still managed to outbox Pac clearly. Also I thought a Draw would be fair, because I assumed all close rounds would automatically go to pac by the judges, and it was still just a DRAW and that's being generous to Pac, scoring those rounds even, Marquez wins clearly! No doubt, New Welterweight champion, and the true first Mexican to win legit world titles in 4 different weight division.

    Marquez has won the trilogy.

    Marquez -2
    Pacquiao - 0
    Draw - 1

**** man I was hoping not to wake up to this and for there to be a clear decision.
Feel sorry for Marquez if he truly won clearly.
How did both guys look btw?
    Did Pacquiao look slower?
Did Jmm look better than against Mayweather? - well I guess he did.
How would this welterweight version of JMM do against some of the other WW in the division?
How did this fight compare to the other two fights?
    cheers.

Pac looked sluggish and did not know what to do from 2nd round onwards. He has lost his footwork (in and our movements) that made him so dynamic before

JMM looked strong, perfectly accustomed to the weight. He showed a good chin as well. He was his usual self, precise and methodical. Sometimes he slugged with Manny, which surprised me, and with success, often

Pac looked slower yes, but rather than slow I'd say less mobile

JMM was way better today than against FM

This version of JMM is ready to take on the other WW contenders

This fight was like the 2nd fight expect that JMM was more dominant and Pac did not score KD:good
