I’m cutting him some slack. He couldn’t see. Joyce was peppering the eye, circling towards it, and peppering it some more.

Dubois was a one-eyed fighter at that point.
I imagine the ref was going to be stopping it quite soon. Either Joyce was going to force his hand, or the docs would.

I was surprised his eyes were marked up so bad. Alot punches from Joyce seemed liks half shots. I never thought he was that bad defensively. Joyce made his face swell up from grazing shots. Frank won't be too happy with him when he gets home. No food for his pet Frankenstein. Lol

Basic animal instinct in all of us is fight or flight.
Fighters are no different regardless of their level , Dubois chose flight..

He's done it once ..I personally suspect he'll do it again.

I know there's been exceptions after fighters quitting (Duran for one) but Imo there's simply some things "some" boxers simply can't fix.....

I shouldn’t have laughed at that last sentence but I definitely did. It seems that Joyce did some studying and knew that his jab would be effective and Dubois simply had no answer for it.. Once Joyce proved he was able to take his power the fear factor was gone and Joyce stood in close range to keep sticking that jab. Idk if Dubois can recover simply because as with Kell Brook significant damage to the eye can have a long term impact on his ability to take flush punches to the face.

This. Not only was Dubois in over his head, but even his corner seemed clueless.
