Man you beat me to it. You could also say any of the men that held "the other title" while Larry was champ. I'm not saying he avoided them, and I'm aware of the boxing politics at that time. It's a real shame that Holmes never faced off against men like Coetzee, Dokes, Thomas, Page, Tate, and Tubbs. It's even worse that he never took on Weaver for a second time. Or Witherspoon for that matter.

    What about Lewis v Bowe?
In hindsight, Tyson v Bowe might have been good to.
Foreman v Lewis would have been a lot better than the Lewis v Briggs unification that we eventually got.
Klitchsko v Klitchsko is also another fight that needs to take place in the future if both keep winning, but wont.

It may have been politics in some cases but Holmes was pretty strong with the politicians .....Still whoever is at fault history will show that Larry missed out on unifying and a big payday to boot...why...they used influance to there benifit....History will show Larry is the biggest non-unification offender

Of all the fights Holmes could've made, this is the one I would've wanted to see most of all. And even though Weaver had already lost to Holmes - in one of the best heavyweight fights in history - to me he was as deserving of a unification fight as any of the co-champions, as he had one of the longer and more distinguished reigns of them.

"Holmes-Coetzee" in '84 should've happened...... That would've been big..... But only the IBF & WBC titles would've been on the line...... "Spoon & Thomas" held the WBA title in '84......
