This was the first time I can recall seeing Andre Ward fight someone who likes his kind of brawling, mauling style. And it didn't look that good for Ward, despite what the judges' cards said. I agree with Al Bernstein: This was about a 116-112 fight. Ward was hurt twice in the last round. Credit to Ward for winning the bout. But you wonder how much of this style he'll be allowed to fight outside of Oakland. And you wonder how long he can stay in the game fighting this way. Finally, you wonder how much people are going to want to watch this kind of fight. Bika is a tough guy. And, once again, a Ward opponent was complaining about headbutts and dirty tactics.
an awkward guy that comes to fight dirty is a guy that gives Ward a tough fight. Not every fight is going to be a shutout
They were both fouling and being unbelievable with the forearms and headbutts. But man, infights just get like that a lot. It happens, especially when both guys are trying to get position. Ward did a solid job of countering, he fought well on the inside, and he absorbed some leather. This was certainly a tough fight he didn't have to take.

Bika started a game that he wasn't ready to finish. I enjoy that Ward can do that. Can't wait to see what happens against Abraham.
No one looks impressive against Bika. Even Calzaghe looked like crap. Ward - Bika was an ugly ass fight and Ward did his job and won, and now I never want to mention this fight again.
Ward, did what he had to do. Bika, because of his style is extremely hard to look good against, no one has looked good beating him in the few times he lost. Ward, is the truth in this division.
This is what is said everytime that someone fights Bika. He isn't the sort of fighter that you can look great against.
Now that should be a fun match-up. Let's hope AA stays in the tournament, because supposedly he was talking about dropping out after the loss to Froch tonight.
