That was a great experience for Ward though don't you guys agree? That was a tough dirty/in-n-out fighting, his heart and will was tested in a tough grueling fight and Ward got some nice experience in that fight to prepare him for Froch.

Ward was basically fighting a less refined mirror version of himself tonight. It was pretty easy to forecast that it'd be a rough, dirty, ugly fight that'd go the distance and that Bika had no chance of winning on the cards. There weren't really any surprises there.

I wouldn't read too deeply in it. Ward fought tonight like the same fighter he's always been. Doesn't fight pretty, but there's a grit to him when he fights that sets him apart and reminds me a bit of the grueling LHW battles of the 70's where grinding down your opponent played a bigger part in winning than the flashy skills that make for pretty highlight reels. Kind of like a Bizarro-world Roy Jones.

What's for sure is that Bute looked way more impressive in beating Bika. And that was 3 years ago. Now, he'd knock the **** out of him.

But Ward still looked better than Calzaghe...

Ward's referee pushed Bika back, allowed Ward to hold, use his elbow, etc. Ward refused to fight in the tournament unless he got "ALL" his fights in his home town, plus he own personal referee and his judges, commentators, his ring and gloves. Ward likes to cheat. Ward had the best referee money can buy, also the best judges money can buy.

Bika is a dirty fighter and it's hard to look good against someone like that, Calzaghe also looked poor against him. You can't look good fighting and beating all styles, Bika has an ugly style so I'm not surprised this fight was ugly.

I agree with that, he needed a fight like that. Props to both him and Bika.

    I like these.....

Bika is a real tough opponent and a natural spoiler.... definitely someone different than Ward has faced up against. And still came out on top fairly....

Wins over Peter Manfredo jr & Sam Soliman (not sure if he counts for much - would have been an awkward fight to watch). Went the distance with Joe Calzaghe & Lucian Bute....

Did you see Ward's personal referee push Bika back? Ward's judges are a disgrace also.

Why does Ward get all his fights in his home town?

    lol

Nice to see all the burthurt coming out tonight.

Sure is amusing that instead of showing props to your own fighters the best you guys can do is try to tear down the guy on top of the division. Once Ward gets your boys in the ring, you'll get sorted soon enough.

Don't be a player hater - be a player congratulator.
