Turn his hands loose if he's going to win. Watched the first 2 and GGG showed to much respect to Alvarez and was mostly throwing short punches, he rarely loaded up.
I agree. In the first fight GGG had Canelo trapped against the ropes and in real trouble. He showed too much respect. GGG was undoubtedly robbed in fight 1. But he needs to go for it. Even if he knocked Canelo down twice, the judges will still find a way to screw him over.
You only get "screwed" when you clearly win and don't get the decision. Close fights go either way, no one is really "screwed".
I had the first fight 9-3 GGG. Not close IMO. I wasn't the only one; majority of fans agreed. Second fight was close. I have no issue with anyone who scored fight #2 for Canelo. Screwed is correct for fight #1. I see no case for Canelo winning 5 rounds in fight #1 or even 4 rounds.
I disagree. Both looked unimpressive in the first fight. Alvarez wasn't active enough and Golovkin was stiff like a tree. They both looked terrible and neither deserved the win in my opinion.
He knows what he has to do. Nail the Canelo fellow to the canvas. He has zero upside and judges will give him nothing, even if it's razor-close in there. This is his last shot. If he yet again fails to show his purportedly huge set on the big stage and turns in another of those conservative, measuring performances he's wont to produce when he senses threat, no sympathy from me.
This is the problem with casual fans. They think big telegraphed shots hurt more than short compact power shots and thus they give flashy fighter like Canelo rounds. Those short punches have more power than Canelos big overhand rights.
GGG both needed to let his hands go and invest more in the body rather than just headhunt He did neither
The one thing that did surprise me is that Golovkin got plenty on the official scorecards, despite his lack of upside at forty years of age.
