Hmm...Shame for Gonzalez. Thats an embarrassing beating by a middle weight.

 

Why all the hate for James guys?

 

Probably has something to do with him and his she-beast trainer being pieces of ****.

That might.. you know.. potentially turn off some people

 

I hear a lot of talk about Kirkland being a punk or whatever during sparring but he's just doing what's expected out on him from Wolfe. They have a seek and destroy, no mercy mindset and he let's up on someone he's probably get an earful from Wolfe.

 

That is the most ******ed, unproductive sparring session I've ever seen.
What sort of piece of **** ring were they using? They're pro fighters ffs.
Kirklands trainer has no idea what she is doing, constantly barking instructions during sparring and Kirkland trying to 'perform' in sparring.
You don't improve skills by 'performing' in training, you work on different parts of your game and put them together when it matters. It's just a simple fact about how skills are learned. Doing what he is doing in the video will keep him as the same fighter he is now.
The trainer encouraging him to beat up on his sparring partner who had no gas left, what do you achieve by that? Kirkland is mentally weak, he's obviously too emotional and unintelligent to do anything.
We like to think of boxing as a macho sport but being macho like in this video is pointless, there are plenty of 'tough' people who are fit and won't back down from the likes of Kirkland. That's when the more skilled and intelligent fighter prevails.
Boxing is a sport, the more skilled boxer is going to go further and this sort of training doesn't improve skills or ingrain the mentality needed to be a champ.

 

Well he doesn't beat down **** sparring partners, but overall I think he needs a better trainer, Wolfe is a good clean S&C coach, but she doesn't possess the ability to teach a person how to actually box.

 

It doesn't matter what level the sparring partner is at on the fighting stage, an intelligent boxer isn't going to try and fight in sparring. Where is the sparring partner at in his training plan? The videos I've seen of Kirkland sparring he's up against big, slow guys who are obviously not in fighting shape. He'd be better off by going and hitting the heavy bag instead. Might not get so emotional either.
I'm guessing there isn't video of him sparring world class, professional fighters who are also in shape because the coach doesn't believe in him and a decent coach for the sparring partner wouldn't allow unproductive, unprofessional sparring like in the video.
Getting Kirkland to beat up guys in the gym who aren't prepared will help his confidence in the gym, when he fights somebody on the big stage who can give it back just as good then that confidence will dissapear immediately.

He doesn't look like he's improved his technique at all. He still looks like a brawler waiting to be KO'd.

Sounds like you are trying to projects because the Wolfe camp doesn't do thinkgs you like and you don't like Kirkland's development.

Fact is he does have very good quality sparring with the likes of Vera and this Gonzalez guy, who supposedly is a very good boxer and who has power at Cruiser and who was in shape.

NOw as far as we know this was just some work at the beginning of camp, nothing to do with their main sparring of how they were going to deal with Angulo.

I would also add, that Kirlkand is developing slightly, I did see some head movement, some shoulder rolling and catching of punches, but it is baby steps.

 

I haven't really been following James for that long so I dnt know about all the hate...
Regarding Wolfe, I think she is wuld b an awesum conditioning coach but nt too technical...

Who are all these pussies crying because Kirkland has killer instinct, what type of competent boxer turns his back on another fighter while the round is still going, you can't call timeout this is boxing, not to mention the fact that James tap him on the shoulder, waited until the guy turned around and only hit him with a lazy punch...

It's a good thing we don't have to watch bitches like you **** boys who are saying James is dirty fight, you would have no killer instinct, let your opponent call his own timeouts snd probably tap gloves after every punch putting Shane Mosely to shame...

I hope its a great action packed fight between Kirkland and Angulo and may the best man win....

 

It's not hate, for the most part at least, it's simply a realistic assessment that he's a Glass Jawed brawler that is a brutal KO waiting to happen. He has no Chin. None.
